Taking away our rates is this the new way for lindens to force us to rate???

after i seen half of my rates are gone i am wondering if lindens trying force us to rate for there new price, to me its no use to rate anymore your rates will gone after a few months, they dont think about some players that depened on stipend or is that there way to make us change the acount?, well i am not happy with these changes and i think i am not the only one in this, i hope lindens use there brians better sigh

Spelling and grammar aside, I think we can all give him a break, his point is he is upset about this and is looking for some support from people who feel the same way he does, if you don't agree can't you just go on to the next thread?

I agree with ya night i belive there trying to force us to rate,not gona work tho people who are not rich will just stop rating. I know i stoped not gona do it anymore.

Personally, I don't misspell very many words...but I DO occasionally misspell! Oh for God's sake! If all we have to do is pick apart each other's misspellings, we need to get a life! Good heavens! The ONLY thing that was focused on was Night's spelling!

Night happens to be a good friend of mine and like a brother. I don't care HOW many misspellings he has in his content! It's the MESSAGE that I read, NOT the misspellings or grammar!

I don't normally come into the forums just because of all these petty posts! It gets boring to say the least. Seems all the forums are used for these days is to just pick on each other, "splitting hairs" as it were. Instead of the forums being used as a good spot to share information, they are being used to put others down, just so some people can feel a bit better about themselves and so they can feel superior.

I totally agree with Night about the reduction of Stipend and the changes that the Linden's have made. And I agree with Scarlett... people need to concentrate on the main problems of what's making the game very HARD to enjoy lately. I have read where, I think, Andrew wrote that SL reflects RL in the way SL follows trends and patterns in human history and nature. I guess that's only logical since humans are playing the game that a virtual world is turned into a dung heap the same as we've done to our real world because of petty BS and differences that shouldn't matter and won't in the LONG run. If more people concentrated on the real problems within their world, then maybe those problems would be lessened instead of intensified.

However, I truly believe that the Lindens' actions have helped to propel SL into following RL in that not only are we in a depression in RL but in SL as well because of the DRASTIC changes they made. If they had allowed those changes to happen a little more gradually instead of such a BIG cut in Stipend and rating bonuses (i.e. charging $5 instead of $25 for rating)... this may not have happened. The Lindens would have allowed people to adjust at a more natural pace instead of being "cut off at the knees".

AZ -- or worse yet, to use another figure of speech, the horse is now a "zombie" and returns to haunt us all. RRL = Really Redundant Loop.

I would recommend writing down your feelings about the changes in a private notebook or even blog somewhere, and then come back six months down the line, and a year later, and see how they compare. You can do some pretty amazing self-discovery this way.

One thing I've noticed chatting inworld lately is how many are still unaware of the context around L$25 rates, not to mention the Ratings Decay that happened three days ago, not to mention the fact we have a trio of new Liasons in the Linden family, etc. And then when I point them to the Forums, they're either like "Forums?" or "I don't read them".

In the case of the former, I point 'em here, but in the latter, why not? Why not at least the Announcements Forums so one can keep aware? I think it's important to spread the word and put the information right in front of the avatars -- quite possibly, as has been discussed, on the loading screen after login. That way, there is very little room for ignorance and saying "I didn't know!" And additionally, a "Forums..." link in the Help menu.

nightmare, I hear what you're saying. You definitely have frustrations about this and you're not the only one. I recommend you search through the archives of the forums as well to find many more opinions so that you can glean from those additional perspectives. But fear not, the Lindens have thought this through carefully, and as Second Life is a work-in-progress, so are we. We must continue to be a supportive community and help each other to grow.

That being said, I have communication difficulties myself so I refrain from clamping down unless a bad speller is ALSO quite clearly rude and unleashing personal attacks and whatnot.

I like to show compassion to others, in the hopes I'll be treated the same way.

I came to these forums to support my dear friend Night with Scarlett. I very rarely come any more as some of the rude and ignorant comments I have encountered here from immature and insultingly rude people are rampant. Sorry Sunny but I think you read Alexa wrong. She was supporting Night by saying he was doing well with English. How many of us would do as well with Dutch. I have to add, I am English and the US corruption of my language can be annoying. Some of the words and expressions used are downright disgusting and insulting in Britain but we learn to tolerate it and the misspelling of many English words is incomprehensible to us. That said, I return to the topic. The stipend for one time members of SL is 50L now!!!! which seems mean in the extreme. These are people who wish to enjoy the game but cannot afford any more.
I have been in SL for a year now and things are not as good or as much fun as they were. I have always been against the rating system and frequently told the Lindens so. There are some really great people in SL which is the only reason I stay and Night is one of them. Some of the sarcastic and insulting comments expressed here should be relegated to the sewers with their perpetrators. But then these people are the ones that can only get their jollies and ego boosts by belittling others in real life. Nobody has the right to arrogantly tell us that a topic is finished. That is for us each to decide and leave if we have done with it.
I was disgusted that Ryen was allowed to use such language as I believed it was banned and would be censored. I will be making a strong protest to the Lindens about the insulting comments which amount to personal abuse. These are the sort of people who ruin the experience of SL for all of us. I assume from the immature content that Ryen is very young and trying to impress us but has failed dismally.
