Quick Poll: One AV, or many?

I have one main body, face, hair and shape av that I use. Even though i sometimes go out of that (superheros or monkey/wolf (the wolf is the first av i made, but don't really use it). I also dress my av in many different outfits, but mostly I either use the black/yellow jetball outfit or jeans, "chuck" sneakers, and jean shorts, and one of my comic t-shirts.

I only have one Av.. that I made to look as much like my RL self as I could. I am still tweaking it over time. One significant difference is hair, where I chose the hair i'd like to have rather than the hair I actually have. Oh.. and I still haven't quite got the bridge of my nose quite right.

I did briefly try some different 'fantasy' Avs such as being cat-like, but it felt wrong and so I stick to just being me.

Also.. I like the fact that folk recognise me from a distance now, or in a dense crowd (where many AV names merge badly). Having many Avs would detract from that.

Interesting thread.

Being rather new to SL, my time spent so far has been making avies. I highly enjoy the incredible changes and effects that SL offers to avatar making (after being incredibly limited with TSO).

I have one main avie that is evolving all the time and about 50 others.. some of them represent sims that I have played from TSO, rl look and some in the fantasy/bizarre theme. A few of them I create as "Boy, I wish I looked like that in RL!"

I have way too many avatars. I tend to change the way I look depending on my mood. I do this in RL as well (though the changes aren't as drastic as in SL) by dressing according to my mood (e.g. casual clothes when I feel lazy, skirts when I feel flirty, etc.). I am mostly sticking to my Ichigo avatar because I made the Cafe from the series and I have the anime fever! :D

Right now I just have one AV. I like being able to be something completely different than normal. Purple skin is just too cool! :)
I want to play around with attachments and see what bizzarre things I can come up with. Just the idea of being able to be anything is too amazing for words.

So some people have 60+ avatars in their grab bag. I'll take the opposite end of the spectrum. I have one. but not only that...

I have the same body that I made in Prelude on my first day and it's the result of the Random button for all but the hair and some coloring changes.

The clothing I made during my first week: the tiger print shirt, dark pants.

And I haven't changed since. :P

(Now in 1.1 I look like I went up in flames, but that's because I was playing with some particle fire and decided to be a real-(2nd)-life Burning Man.;))

Good question daemioth, one I've been wondering about for a while.

As for myself, I have spent FAR too much time attempting to get my av to match my rl self as closely as possible. I dont vary from her face and body shape ever, but her hair, makeup, tats, clothing ect are constantly changing.
It's almost become a ritual- log in, change clothes, get ready for the day so to speak ;)

of course the main difference is neph never has to shave her legs, pluck her eyebrows, apply alpha hydroxy creme.....must be nice.

and she also LIKES onei's bongfunk.

I pretty much have the same exact AV I made on Prelude. I originally wore a shirt of red steel. About 2 months in I started making shirts. I change those, and my hair color randomly.

Then sometimes I wander around as a black mage.

When I first started I used to change my AV every single day. I now have an AV which never really changes features, but I change her clothing everyday. It's fun, especially since there are so many really cute clothes in the game.
