Well darlins let me tell ya a bit... I wanted to be in for life but a certain other online game *cough TSO cough* pretty much wiped out much of my faith in online games, out the window, down the path over the hill and out to sea
. Lack of improvements, fun and well down right mind numbing boardum. Unless I wanted to be barbie the bimbo looking for ken who was usualy turned out to be some 14 year old boy who played barbie himself in another town working as a stripper or just talking trash to other women lol! but true!Alas I came to check out SL anyway and what did I find ohh lots more than I had been "accepting". Oh how I realy realy wanted to be in for life but I just could not commit the $$. Chucked over 500 in "The Sims Fiascio/Junk. So I teeter toddered between the two for days and finaly just commited to a years worth of SL unleaded . I have hopes and dreams but once bitten twice shy baby. So my heart is in for life but my wallet well its tucked firmly away for a year. I have confidence in the Lindens and hope I regret not plopping down 160.00 off the bat Guess if they can always chuck in the extra 60.00 on my behalf Cat Love ya Lindens realy love my purdy new purple crayon! _____________________

I still wanna, but I still so VERY pissed I missed the end of BETA event. I am calming down.. but I am still PISSED.
Besides that I plan, if I can feel better about this, to deposit my payroll check and then make second Life my first transaction. |

Well, it was a fight between my inner cheapskate that wanted to minimize my overall costs, and my inner slacker that didn't want to be bothered with budgeting land and prims.

aye... I waited six months, to be goooood and sure... I'm in.
I thought about it initially in June (after having been in the beta for a month), but then I thought if I did it it would remove the impoetus for me to log in and use it... "What the hell, if I have lifetime I can just disappear for a couple months, then forget I have it." But now SL is a regular part of my day, and it makes a lot of sense to just go ahead and do this now. That, and the sixteenth... that's good stuff. _____________________

I had the same thought. At the end of Beta I was still wet behind the ears and was pretty sure I'd find this just like any other game I've played, IE get obsessed with it for a couple months then let it collect dust.
Well... I'm still here, and I was pretty sure I'd spring for the lifetime anyway, so when I heard about the big land advantage being handed out I went for it! Yay! No more taxes and all the land and prims I'd managed to consume so far anyway. ![]() |

I played Beta for two months for free
Bought three months out of beta and converted to Lifer right after my first paid month. |

Not that I'm really losing too much hair about it, but I hope my wife's account makes it to Lifetime before they run out (only two left... sweats). Once I saw they were really dropping I thought I'd better get on the stick, but I made the (possible) foolish mistake of paying by bank transfer rather than credit card. So, instead of instant gratification, I get a long wait for the transaction email to come before I know if she's in for life or not.
Oh well, what's (second)life without some excitment? ![]() |

I was thinking this too. There are a lot of lifetime members I never even saw during beta. Oh, AYE!

It took a lot of soul-searching, but I finally did it about a week ago.

After a month on a standard monthly account I opted for a lifetime one. I was prompted by the 1.2 change more than anything. I think I would have still continued to pay around $15 ($9.95 + extra land allocation) so would have paid the equivalent of the lifetime fee in well under two years.
Wife still thinks I have more money than sense. ![]() |

Hmm
For all you new lifers, Can you tell me how much it is and how easily they give them up? When we the beta tester got lifetime accounts they said that they would offer some to post beta users but that they would cut them off and stop offering them. To make them special. I am glad you guys have the opportunity to join our hallowed ranks, but I don't appreciate the Lindens having misled us. oh BTW, who the hell dug up this thread? JV _____________________

Don't worry I'm still here Eggy and with 1.2 I might try to go for a revival, though I'm lost everytime I log in now.... and I can't go to the familiar Route 66 any more.... Oh what shall I do with my second life? JV _____________________

Merry Christmas to the Lindens. I also opted for the lifetime after I figured out I'd actually have *less* than what I have now after 1.2 and I was like "um, not paying 15 a month for less land/freedom etc." so I converted to Lifetimer a few days ago. So I'm a lifer out of pure-d greed and selfishness
. Does that count? Zana _____________________
