Err---I'm not sure about that.....

Scenario: Me and you both pay 195/month for an entire SIMS worth of prims/land

Me and you both go buy 4x4 plots in some heavily populated area like federal.

Me and you rez 10,000 prims on each of our 4x4 plots?

They will be tying prim usage to actual land owned in the sim, methinks.

Actually that's incorrect. You prim usage is tied directly to the parcel size.

So if you have 1/16 of a sim you would have 1/16 of a sim worth of prims.

However, you cannot buy a small 4x4 meter plot in one sim and the remainder of your 1/16 in another and build the 1/16 worth of prims on the small parcel. Prims will need to be allocated based ont he size of the parcel you are building on.

I hope that's not true. What if you buy a 4x4 parcel in a sim, and then purchase the rest of your land allowance as a disconnected section of riverbed in the same sim? Would you be allowed to put your entire allowance on the 4x4 section? I'd think so, since it's all in the same sim.

I think Colin is trying to say that if say, you own say, 1024m^2 in Hawthone, and 3072m^2 in Lusk, you can't put 3072m^2 worth of prims in your Hawthorne build. Prim alottments are confined within sims, you can't use prims from Sim A in Sim B.

Anyone who's worried that there will not be new servers coming should put their fears to rest.

The whole underlying point to this price transition is to have us pay in proportion to the server resources that we're occupying (by owning land). So, the more land we pay for, the more land gets *added* to the SL world in the long run.

This is the plan to grow SL with minimum risk, as expenses are covered nicely this way. As long as SL remains a fun place (ie the griefers don't find a way to mess things up), I can see the world growing rapidly with the 1.2 changes.

Just wait 'til the changes come before you judge them. That's what I'm doing.

Hikaru, they're still hammering out the details on group land. Dont panic.

Call me a pesimist(sp?) I am. I'll only believe rumors of new sims if the Lindens say it.

Myslef, I think they'll dribble them out one at a time over a long long time.

As far as 32 new sims with 1.2 (read that rumor somewhere ) NO WAY! They expect to be paid RL$ for them. If they open that many sims at once, they won't make as much money as if they drop them in,, one at a time, like every other month.

What if both plots are in the same region?

Scenario: I use my entire land allocation in one sim; I buy it in the form of two equal-sized plots at opposite corners of the sim. I leave one plot vacant.

How many prims can i rez on the other plot: my entire allotment (based on the amount of land I own in the sim), or only half of it (based on the size of the individual plot)?

According to the Lindens, your prim usage is based on total land in the sim. It can be one block, or several. You could own a 128x128 meter chink of land and put all your prims on a single 4x4 square somewhere else in the sim.

Drathor, according to Colin, what you're saying isn't correct. The way he's described it, it sounds like you can't use the prims from one parcel to build on an unconnected parcel in the same sim.

Hmm...
that would be okay too, if you could 'connect' non-adjacent parcels....

Which would be a nice feature, IMHO----the ability to group all of your land in one sim, if you wanted.

Also a nice feature :) The ability to describe kill zones/build zones/fly zones on your land without dividing it up

I'm going to back off of my prim per parcel statement because apparently this is still in discussion. Once I or someone else has an answer we will let you know.
