Funny, because your involvement in this thread certainly seems to indicate the opposite. You posted here and accused anyone questioning a clandestine, temp-on-rez, self-propogating satellite network as people creating drama and out as a lynch mob. That seems to me to be a direct invitation for the said people to respond to you in discussion.

Rather than merely dismissing everyone you disagree with as drama queens, why don't you try putting aside your own prejudices toward certain folks in the forum, and realize that there's a legitimate concern being addressed?

Fact: Reputable old players have agreed that this is a significant concern.
Fact: Several Lindens have stated that there are many aspects of this that should be discussed (land owner rights, returning objects over your land, sim resources, to specifically name three)
Fact: The overwhelming majority of posters have been mature over several threads and 30+ pages.
Fact: The only person who's been sarcastic has been you. Other dissenters have been fairly polite.
Fact: The only person who's used oversized, colored font is you.

I try and respond to you seriously, Kris, giving you the benefit of the doubt that your incorrect assumptions are based on previous bias rather than sheer malicious trolling or outright lack of reasoning ability. Perhaps that's a foolish thing for me to do. You never seem to learn.

Yep, they are back. I can't really say which is worse, starting this system in the first place or stopping them and restarting them. I still think it quite possible that they are truly uncontrolled by their owner, and that one of these left unchecked was capable of reinfecting the grid.

Just an added data point, there are three active scripts running per joined set, two in one of the cubelettes and one in the other.

I guess I'll fire up my countermeasures today. Damn, I really wish I didn't have to do this.

Isn't it possible that the lindens asked the owner to turn them off for a period of time and then to turn them all back on for testing purposes? Robin Linden did say they were in the process of testing the objects and their impact on the grid.

It's also possible that they're flying out of your butt. Your point? Your speculation is no better than anyone else's. It's actually worse than most as others are using data, you're just using rhetoric and not very good rhetoric at that.

Bring some evidence rather then guesses and you might be taken seriously.

I suspect Weedy Herbst is using the data these things collect to find public land. I think he owes us an explanation.

You do realize that Pete Fats and the Lindens are just laughing at you all, no? Pete Fats is reading the forums, and not responding to people's concerns about his ability to use server resources without owning land. The Lindens don't think it's a problem since their current rules don't prevent this type of behavior and probably just find it all amusing.

Basically I see a few courses of action...

1. Protest inworld and in the forums. Not everyone reads the forums.
2. Give it up and accept the fact that people can get around the rules and there is nothing you can do about it.
3. Pressure the Lindens through the appropriate channels (Feature Requests, Hotline, chatting with Linden developers, etc) about why it's a problem.
4. Flood the world with the same technology so Linden Lab is forced to fix the problem. (I don't see this as a problem really as only one person is allowed to skirt the autoreturn and self-replicating rules and as one person, it's low impact. If a dozen people do it world wide, the grid will strain and people will demand something be done).
5. Kick back with a martinni (3 olives, extra dry), play and explore the SL you love, and relize it's all just a Game.
