From: Snowcrash Hoffman I am not having fun but my SL avatar is Lol! My avatar is bugging the hell out of me to get her eyes fixed. I got her glasses (won them at Bingo), but noooooooo, not good enough. She plans to have a WHOLE lot more fun once I figure out how and get more than 256 memory. I'm sick to death of not being able to see stuff. Yes, it's great when I can't see the hulking builds around my house, or the junk cluttering up the sky. But it's LOUSY for exploring. Ever tried looking at Backstage or Burning Man with 64 draw distance? Then check it at maximum draw distance? (Then, if you're me, crash from the effort?) It's two entirely different universes. Once I get that memory boosted, I will probably be a much happier camper, as regards lag, large groups, etc., too. Meanwhile, I'm always happy building. Always. There is no way to ever run out of things you want to do. coco

From: Garnet Psaltery A little more conversation than that would help we talk dirty at ~Queen of the Damned~ in Stump alot and make fun of brainiac-scripters who are anti-fashion but unable to resist our teasing them to dance, we also talk about art and obscure German pop songs the meaning of life and who should be spanked next.

More memory is supposed to help but, having just installed an extra Gig I can't say I've noticed all that much difference. Ho hum.

I'm having a fabulous time. I bust out the sketchbook, let the ideas flow, and step across the digital/traditional bridge. Media and techniques get blended and combined in ways that a few years ago I would have dreamed of, but as abstract wishes, not ever as a reality. I bring my creations from the static page into an enviornment where in thier own way, they come to life. On the virtual canvas, the line between recreation and employment blurs. This is so satisfying. The most intense and fufilling work I've ever done. So, yeah....who's having SL fun? *raises hand* I am. I'm having a blast. This place is awesome. Long live SL. (another great thread merwan- thanks!!! )

I always have fun in Second Life. Even when I'm working, there's an element of fun.
I mean, if I wasn't in it for the fun, I wouldn't be here, natch?

From: Garnet Psaltery More memory is supposed to help but, having just installed an extra Gig I can't say I've noticed all that much difference. Ho hum. Well, maybe no regarding lag in large groups really, I've heard tell, but surely it will make a big difference in draw distance? And I know it will allow me to turn on Shiny, and without it, I won't be able to take advantage of putting text on prims in the updates to come. But it will help with seeing a longer distance, and still being able to move around (and not crash) while doing so, won't it? coco P.S. better video card, too, says daz? waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa P.S. You said it, Nephalaine. There's very little more satisfying than someone having fun with something you created.

totally having fun I get to create all this stuff from drawing to prim wielding and even crappy scripting (ok, the last bit is more frustrating than fun) When I'm not creating all this stuff, i get to look at all the amazing stuff my friends have made, and if I'm lucky, help out When I'm not looking at their stuff, i get to have interesting conversations with all these amazing people I have met When I'm not talking to friends, I get to think about all the fascinating intellectual facets and challenges of Second Life and Linden Lab then I get to come to the forums and get frustrated lol Edit: just noticed coco's post -- yeah, my "fun" increased when I splurged on a more powerful computer -- of course the old one wasn't even legal... i was playing on an intel graphics card for many many months which of course was a disaster... and I STILL loved SL.

I'm still having fun. My chess board is not as buggy as it has been and I've had several enjoyable games of chess in SL. <shameless_plug> Come visit the chess club ! (just lookup "chess" in find). </shameless_plug>

I'm not having fun. My comp blew up and I'm relegated to the forums for the next few days. Though I am going to *try* logging in tomorrow on my hubby's computer.. hehe.. Err, otherwise, I'm having a blast! I have new friends, new goals. Life is good.

I'm having some fun, but recently a bunch of people who used to hang together have paired off and are somewhere making kissy face.

Lot of fun at my end. Building is so reminiscent of playing with Lego blocks in many ways, and scripting is reminiscent of the good old days of programming my Apple ][ computer.
As for verbal interplay, that's the most fun though. The interaction, much different than RPGs where your goal is to get the best items or stats or money, is actually about playing one's character(s), and it forces you to be more attentive and thoughtful about what to type next.
There used to be a slogan, "It's fun to create with Crayola" (the crayon brand name by Binney and Smith). Second Life is just like that.

I am having fun hosting 1-2 events a day, even if some of them don't attract more than a couple of people. It's still fun to hang out with a complete stranger discussing why they were the only person who came! Apparently other people have fun at my events too as I've been tipped L$1000+ on a couple of occasions...
I am having fun buying cheap land and spending a few days developing attractive housing and landscaping on it. I also have fun putting it up for sale when I'm done for the price I paid, plus what I feel is a fair price for the building work, and seeing people buy it.
I am having fun going to Quintzee, Tringo, SL Fortune, Primtionary, Building/Texturing contests and Trivia and competing with people both familiar and new. I also have fun when I win!
I am having fun posting about free basic accounts in my blog and hearing how my other online friends are becoming addicted to SL. I have fun finding residents I've referred for the first time as they're standing on some remote road in Appearance Window stance.
Yup, still having fun here!

I'm having fun, too! How? Mostly, by hanging around people who make the most incredible stuff. And Snail Racing. That's fun, too.
