The last word I heard was that it was a female that had killed this woman and took her baby. They suspect either the woman wanted the child for herself, or to sell it on the black market. There is good money to be made on the black market for a healthy white child. I know some couples have to wait up to 5 years or more for a white baby, while for minority children the wait is usually much much less time (the reasonings behind that are a whole other discussion). But HOW someone could bring themselves to do that to another human being as this woman did is so beyond me I can't even put it into words.  _____________________

The person that performed this act it is a victim of the system. What do we know about this poor man? How can we judge him? Did cold hearted corporate greed made him lose his job? Did budget cuts prevented him from getting the psychological care he deserved? Was this a desperate attempt to attract attention from a society that abandoned him? Did he do it out of loneliness during the Holidays? Did some vicious landlord throw him out in the cold for not paying his rent? Lets remember we are all the same, all one happy family sharing this wonderful world. Let's embrace those less fortunate than us and extend a helping hand. Please sir, wherever you may be. What this person did is horrifying, and if they're found guilty by a jury of their peers, they should most certainly be put away for a very, very long time. But the death penalty is just empty revenge, IMO. And I don't care what someone's done. Rape isn't funny, in prison or out. _____________________

What did I do such that their commission of a crime entitles them to food, shelter and clothing paid for by me/you/society for the rest of their lives? Hell, if we need an executioner, I'll pull switches on the death row crowd a lot cheaper than the guy in Florida does it for (I heard that ten years ago the pay for each execution in Florida was around 2500 for switch flicking... pretty good for a single day's pay back then .. imagine what it is now with inflation). |
