You don't like that someone else is promoting their own thing in the forums? Might I suggest you change your signature or stop trying to tell others not to promote? This may be why you are having difficulty articulating what your issue is. Stop to sell concepts in a forum box!

A signature post is entirly different then...

Merchants Initial Thread:
I have new product X and you can get it at XYZ!

SL Exchange post in same thread:

Or get it here so I can have 10% of the sale.

looking over their threads - seems SLEexchange adds info to the messages posted by merchants that have announced they are sellin thier products at Slexchange...

hardly hijacks - seems like value added feature....

I'd like to see a new thread added to the classifieds for the websites & their vendors to advertise in. Also, I don't much care for the only pics of new items to be thru linking to the sales websites. Is nothing personal against the websites, at all.. just that its a service I am not using right now.

<snip>merchants will post thier items, and then SL Exchage will go and post in that same thread to buy it from them.. <snip> are merchants ok with this?

I see this as the heart of your question Sensual. And my honest opinion on this is... If I did not ask SLExchange to advertise their services in my thread specifically, even *if* I happen to sell products through them, then NO, it would not be ok with me.

If SLExchange asked me if they could promote their services through my products since I was a client, and I told them that they may, then I would have no issue.

So for me, the answer is... I am ok with it as long as permission was granted first. If not, then I think it is counter productive and/or competitive to their "market user" who may have other plans.

Why do I have to be getting at anything? I am asking peoples input and views... please save the drama for another thread.

It seems to me you are targeting SL Exchange for whatever agenda you have. I will show you why I think this:

I don't use SL Exchange because they over advertise and hijack my sales!

Sure that is a valid choice, however, presentation is everything. That choice in the poll is presented to me as an indirect attack against EL Exchange. I see it as an attack because I do not see you listed as a seller on SL Exchange.

Actually, forget that it is a valid choice for one minute. Currently the way it is worded does not make sense. How can this corporation/business advertise that you sell on thier site if you do not sell on thier site?

This is the way I see it, and that is why I asked. I would not have thought anything had it been worded something like:

I don't use SL Exchange.

It just seems like an attack to me, that is all.

Also, I do not like the snide remark about drama or whatever. I asked an honest and serious question based on the reasons in this post. If you look at my post count, I do not post enough to care about what drama goes on in the forums.

blah blah blah.

You know Vade you think too much, I AM a seller on SL Exchange up until a few days ago where I pulled my box so I could update it and relocate it.... So YES... save the drama.

There are a few reasons why I brought this up... I would like to know how merchants feel, obviously... and I have talked to others whom use SL Exchange and love it's features but woulld rather people purchase from thier in game location if possible. There are also people that are 100% happy with SL Exchange. I also know of people that stopped using SL Exchange because of the 10% (it adds up quickly) and/or because they feel that Merwan is trying to make all thier sales lean more towards the site...
I use SL Exchange myself... and I am just curious to know the thoughts and views of others... I also wanted to put my entire creations, animations, clothing etc on the site, but if I see others unhappy with the service, it makes one think twice.

I didn't respond to the poll, because the wording is so biased, that it's obvious to me that you're just trying to stir up some forum drama.

If I advertise something in the forum, I'm quite happy if Merwan contributes to the thread. He's doing me and my customers and service by doing so. Believe it or not, I *want* people to know where to buy my vehicles.

I dont mind them posting on my threads.

1, its helping them and myself.
Bumping up the post.
2, I used to pay say, 300 or so a month to rent somewhere on SL and not sell anything there, to me, that's a waste. This way, I only get charged if I sell something and works out alot less than the rent I used to pay.
Especially, when I used to rent more places.
3, I have had my posts stolen by others before with no other intent than to make their point and their product come across. Which I found very spiteful and mean, but we are who we are.

Just my views anyway :)
