... and my worms. ![]() Worms!! ![]() Um... I'd personally like to see sims that aren't terrestrial-based. I mean, here we are in a completely virtual environment, and yet we're still stuck with a more-or-less two dimensional space to work with. I'd love to see groundless space, and let us make our own ground if we want it. With gravity going in whatever direction we choose... if we even bother with gravity. Maybe let us change our skies, as well... could you imagine if everyone could set their own sky, as visible from their own property? That would get very surreal. ![]() But yeah... why create a world where pretty much anything is doable, and then get stuck in one paradigm? ![]() _____________________

Well, driving ahk's Delorean would be a nice start. And... DRINKABLE LIQUIDS. Wouldn't it be cool to accidentally spill a mug of coffee and watch it splash over another avatar and have to grab a cloth and apologize? Somehow I don't think coffee would be the most used liquid splashing over other avatars. Real hands would be awsome, I'd love it if our arms and hands had their own bounding boxes of some sort, so I could use my legs or arms or feet or hands and knock stuff over and slightly bump other avatars etc. Also Jiggle effect on avatars. ![]() _____________________

My SL dream is an SL where people don't worry about how other SLers live there Second Lives.
Meaning, as long as whatever activities someone else decides to participate in doesn't harm you, I wish people could just let it go. Carrying on for weeks and months about sex, businesses, events, or what have you, is taking things way too far and far too seriously. An ye harm none, do what ye will. _____________________

oh, another thing..

now a general response:
one thing i'd like to see is a fix for hair.. for those of us with long hair, does it not irk the daylights out of you to take off flying and have your hair come right through your body and out the other side? ACK! i'd much rather have hair lay upon the body more naturally.. - but my dreams generally reach much further than hair laying properly upon our bodies. here's an idea.. in addition to standard prim shapes we could have one non-static-esque shape. maybe a simple cube to start with? this special prim would allow you to push, pull, dimple, cut, hollow, etc. a grid across the face of the prim with points that could be manipulated. want a star shaped prim? make it! prims shaped like letters? no problem! i'll leave it at that for now, but there are so very many other ways we could advance in the future it's mind-boggling! _____________________

One day, I'd like to put on some e-gloves and goggles, and just mold the prims to how I'd like them. I'd like to tweak just a couple of vertices without altering everything else. Basically manipulate the wireframe.
Easier way to select like textures. Expand the selection on permissions. Blah blah blah. |

How about...
freeform deformations, Selection Sets, Ability to work at the vertex level, proxy objects, more copy/move tools (ie, array both linear and polar, mirror). How about moveable pivot points? umm...Layers, better object nesting, free trip to Hawaii w/ subscription, unlimited BSDM animations and poses, An ability to buy more prim limit for your land, Ability to pay monthly fees with Lindens, Everyone to come see my place in Clarksburg, more events/new events and much more. And that's just the begining _____________________

My dream is very simple and does not include "fantastic builds" or "the best particles on earth". I would love to see Second Life have a true sense of community. A place where people can mingle and have fun. A place where we could self govern ourselves to the point where we could dispose of griefers without having to depend on the Lindens.
Building stacks of prims and Lincoln logs is fine for some people but it doesn't increase our sense of community. |

You may not know it, but you're referring to a process called "box modelling." This is actually a benchmark for modelling many things 3D - and one of the biggest reasons behind my 3D Model Importer. Pity that script is just a "hack" and not a feature. Amusingly, though, this "dream" of yours is what my forum avatar signifies. From the left, your standard cube primitive phases into a NURBs cube in point-edit mode. In other words, the right half is how I would see it if I were working in a 3D model program and doing what you describe. Neat, huh? ![]() I've also heard Lindens say directly they want to make 3D imports a "feature" at some point in the indefinite future. So we may get our wish! ![]() And what Treacly said, up to a point. _____________________
