What is your SL dream?

I wonder, what is everyone's dreams for SL?
Try to write them here, and maybe post an image that illustrates them
They don't need to be necessarily realistic, or doable with the present hardware/engine.
Just dreams.

Anyway here is mine:

This picture contains basically all that i dream for sl

1: having full fledged urban environments, with roads, bridges, skyscrapers... with people actually living in apartments, shops at lower floors and all...something like the 4 current urban sims we have, but even more urbanized
2: vehicles working decently, allowing to have fluid and adrenaline filled races (but not only, aerial dogfights, and all) in world
3: local lightning not bogging the syetem to an halt
4: sims able to host tens or even hundreds of people without lagging, allowing big audiences for any kind of events (for instance races with hundreds of specators at the edge of the road)
5: Being able to model complex items without being bogged down by having to use extremely limiting prims. Look at that car and imagine it in SL...

That's my dream... what is yours?

There was that exact thing in Phobos/BonnyDoon for several months. It was called Living Cities. Fully liveable apartments, shops on lower floors, subway system, roads.

I wish it was easier to use items such as local lighting and alpha textures - without all the lag cost. These, and more are critical to creating an "immersive" environment like Shiryu describes.

(And I wish I hadn't have missed Living Cities as well.... sounds neat!) :)

Wasn't Chinatown a bit of a step in that direction? That was such a pretty urban sim. I miss it. :)

Maybe we'll see more builds like it when my mantra comes to pass: ONE POINT SIX...ONE POINT SIX....

I would love to see a River Walk-themed area. It would probably require a full sim and the participation of several builders. If anyone might be interested, give me a shout.

I'd like to build a mystical forest with a waterfall that drops into an ocean forest and has steps steps leading up to a mystical retreat into the sky.

The idea being to create this environment so that it begins in the ocean, flows to land and reaches out to sky.

I've already started working on some of the textures but I haven't had a lot of time in world lately. Some day though. Here are some pictures that sort of depict what I have in mind.

?? that sounds really odd to me...

But anyway, I would like at least one sim to look like this [see below] with workable flying/moving enclosures - i.e. you could walk around and dance, etc. while it was flying...
Better vehicle physics and less lag from local lighting would help make this happen.

My dream is a small one... literally. I would like to play Sl on a small appliance. Hand held like the blackberry or sidekick... I would love to be able to take SL anywhere and play it at anytime. Well, it's a dream for the truly addicted.

My dream is one in which we all have the Mules that were promised to us.

Also I'd still love to do Cube.

Well, driving ahk's Delorean would be a nice start.

And... DRINKABLE LIQUIDS.

Wouldn't it be cool to accidentally spill a mug of coffee and watch it splash over another avatar and have to grab a cloth and apologize?

My dream... Isn't really defined yet; but one sort of "daydream" I have for SL is the ability to more smoothly combine animations and gestures with what one "says".. And someday, mayhaps, "moldable" animations that will do a variety of things based upon what you write. It'd be great fun, especially for people(myself, mostly) accustomed to online text roleplaying who might be a little frustrated with how little of their written fun can be expressed through their avatar, if they're not an animator and/or scripter.

I wonder if this one is even doable. I want real, functional hands. AV hands are mostly ornamental. I'd like to be able to topple a stack of physical objects by pushing them with my hands. I want to be able to give the thumbs up or flip off people. I'd like to be able to walk over and pick up items from a table. I'd like to not rely on special animations to move differently.

Colonies on other SL planets or dimensions, with totally alien landscapes and skies. We've had green and snow how about bright orange trees, red grass and purple skies!!? Maybe I should lay off the drugs....Oh and local lighting working outside a supercomputer :)

No drugs necessary -- I see these when I sleep a lot, and would sure like to see them in SL too. This as you know has come up before -- I reckon Hiro once started a topic in the Features Forum about it too. Even someone on a private sim with oodles of extraterrestrial creativity could create something wonderful and themed in terms of the ground -- trees are a bit of a trickier matter but with SpeedTreeRT rolled into SL this fall, who knows? ;) And the sky? Short of hue-knob-twisting... I guess we'll keep dreaming and doing! :D
