I know others have asked about adding the ability to put an interactive web browser function in SL, but I've never seen a Linden reply to it. Would that be too much of a problem since there is not one specific browser endorsed and used by SL (like IE for There)? YES YES!! I want to know this too Beryl! _____________________

I'm not in favor of imbedding a web browser within SL because I'd prefer to choose from the many available. I think the web browser should be a separate and "stand alone" application. However, I'd definitely like to be able to add hyperlinks within objects that automatically start up my browser of choice (defined in my system preferences) and open the page I've specified. Also typing (or copy/pasting) hyperlinks within chat should become an active clickable link when posted. That would ROCK!!! Frankly I don't see any benefit of having an in-game browser, it would be just another maintenance hassle for the Lindens and would slow development of the more important unique features people have been asking about for a long time now. They're funny , they're goodlooking and they enjoy life...they enjoy shopping for hours without whinning your head off , they're optimistic , they have a taste for fashion. 1. Because some of them like creating things, or socialising or even because they enjoy the technology. 2. I have no wife to force me, and I certainly didn't join sl for the sex. 3. I suspect that of the 60%, at least half of them are actually men. 4. Because gay men are less interested in conforming to the male role, and therefore are more likely to take an interest in pastimes and activities which are thought to be 'feminine'. As for being good looking, that's something that is in the lap of the Gods, but I do believe that some straight men are like this as well, and you are probably more likely to find them in sl than in other places. And indeed, some of them might be playing lesbians. _____________________

I'll address some questions raised in this thread ...
Ideally, regardless of gender, people probably came for the creative, innovative outlet. And the socializing. There are other virtual worlds that cater solely to sex. I think those places would appeal more to the sexaholics. As for the good-looking male AV thing, they might have had some help. I've helped a couple and they're out there. Joining thong contests, wearing harnesses, dancing on poles. *sigh* They grow up so fast. *wipes a proud tear from her eye* Blake is on himself. And then some it seems. Firechick is hard to resist. She's sexy but also looks like she can cut your throat. I love that in a woman. Torley can morph into a teeny, tiny, smiley face for all I care. Torley is still Torleykins. I'm a girl, people, sheesh. Yes, I do have the sex drive of a co-ed dormitory. But it's selective. I have been known to prance around in a male avatar for shits and giggles. And that whole announcement about having a sex change ... I've had so many inquiries ... I'm considering making appointments. Hey now ... I'm not a lesbian. And I wuvs women. Talen's lesbianic.
