NO she meant August 2004!

It didn't show up Blake because it was one of the threads that went missing...

You might want to include "Respect" in that issue. Please don't hijack and post out of topic issues in someones Thread, that is disrespectful.

Respect, apparently something you have very little cognition of Blake. Sorry intially your posts were funny and with the appearance of a troll.
Now its just boring and incessant banter of dull signal noise.
Trying to recant what was the most infamous thread without having lived some of the battles and debates that were deleted only eludes to you trying to make a name for yourself over the Taco Rubio thing.

So, yes Blake You have made a name for yourself.
One that in some eyes considering the contradicition and lack of coherance of your posts leads several to rate you lower than troldom.
This statment is not speculation but proof positive through conversations with citizens of SL that read but do not respond to the forums.
Albiet its only a portion of the population, however, were I to produce a poll of real substance about your "Trademarked" charaturistics I am sure the outcome would be the same.<<;(noted speculation)
Fortunately for you this is against the TOS and my reply here only skirts on the fringes of assault but does not cross that line as I merely am pointing out facts of recent events concering your inconsistant posting method.

My simple advice to you is as mentioned once before. It involves Hands/Ankles and a Strong Pull and a POP!

In addition my words my seem inflamatory however as my grandfather always said: "The Truth Hurts"

Have a nice day Blake.

Do the search on the most replies...and see what comes up..that is all I was going by. I did not make the Thread "Outragiously Offended" Taco Rubio did.

IN anycase, it's people like you that cause others to want to quit. You think I enjoy being flamed? Do you think anyone enjoys it? If that is getting a name for oneself, I think you have it in a strange perspective...and you know what? Since I am not contributing and only trolling..I will quit. The floor is all yours Shadow.

Have a nice day.

Nah, Blake, nobody wants that.

Shadow was just getting a little carried away, and quite frankly, looks the worse of everyone for doing it.

All of your posts are always quite interesting, they unfortunately are just too many of them in too short a timespan.

Trust me, just spread them out and have a little patience and all will be fine.

It's easy to check for post count on a particular thread, but with so many people starting multiple threads about the same topic, and thereby splitting replies, that doesn't really tell you anything about what our 'hot button issues' were this year.

Some I recall off the top of my head with no searching needed:

The Upskirt Scandal of 2004
SL Government
The Rise and Fall of the $L
Invasion of the Teens
Land Barons and the Users who Love/Hate Them
$$$ Sigh
Farewell Ms. Cotton
Another Mall Bites The Dust

are you saying your quiting blake? If so thats your choice and nothing I have directed you to do I merely point out facts and request you post with some sensibility.

Additionaly what does "people like you mean" please elaborate, you only know my responses posted here. Don't respond to that Blake I don't want it misconstrued as an invite to assault or flame. However, I do want you to think of your responses in the future before you post them. Christiano has said it many times before if people would think before they posted less misperceptions would be in place on the forums.

Simply put Blake, your post on topics that you have little or no cognitive knowledge about. After awhile it gives an appearance of which I shouldnt have to explain. If your going to post or poll do it with some research some finite or defined information to eleviate the current perception of you. The perception of when others continually have to correct you on your outrageous claims or apparent lack of knowledge.

In the future Blake when you make claims of "People like you" statements be prepaired to back them up with fact instead of retorting angrly because the "Truth Hurts".

I can almost assure you more will follow the path of backing me or anyone that replys to you civily than they would you when you resort to childish assaults such as that.

Have a Nice Day Blake and enjoy your Week of not having me reply as I am going on vacation in 40 mins.

Sincerely, Shadow Weaver

Blake,

Ok, I admit, for some crazy reason, I happen to like your posts. However, I agree with Shadow in that it becomes too much sometimes and you really do need to practice a bit of self restraint. I think your heart is honestly in the right place, maybe that is why I don't get annoyed by them. I don't like seeing you get flamed, because you actually do seem like a pretty sensitive guy.

For better or worse your threads get people to talk, but because of the nature of the questions and some common mistakes you make in posting, you end up becoming the target of many. My advice to you would be to spend a little more time just contributing to the threads of others, instead of always starting multiple posts. I am not saying don't start any, but give more thought and care to the ones that you do. Oh yes, and no more polls for awhile, please for the love of god. They are overused in these forums to the point of meaninglessness, and you have honestly been one of the worst offenders of the poll spam.

You started out in these forums getting a lot of attention from some established players who wanted to help you. Since then, you have attracted a lot of negative attention to yourself because of your posts. It's not too late to turn it around. Blaze offered you good advice as well. Hopefully you will listen, because I don't want the frustration of being flamed so often to cause you to leave.

Blake is not my alt! I swear! :p

And Blake, what Cris just posted is exactly how I feel too. I would hate to see you leave, and I also hate seeing you flamed. Even though I understand why people get frustrated with you. Anyway, Cristiano said it best already. :)

If you had an alt, you could easily pick it out by the fact that I am sure it would still be 7 feet tall and use British words for no apparent reason even though you aren't British :)

I don't think the three word thread really counts as a topic, though.

I think of Blake like Peter "scoop" Brady. He's a dogged chronicler of events, and a bit of a yellow journalist. Now, as you all know, i'm totally against sensationalism :P

I'd miss his posts, and if somebody wants to declare themself king of the asylum, who am I to tell 'em they cant?

Thank You Taco, I needed that chuckle today! :)

My vote for the biggest issue is the Government threads. They just kept coming back like a recurring boil. Land Baron debates a close second, followed by the anti-commercialism issue in third.

Blake,

My advice to you is that if you are going to make posts and new threads on these forums forget conforming to what others want. You will NEVER please all of them and will only betray yourself in the end.

Be consistent in thought, have clarity in your words and be true to yourself. Post what you really think and stick to your guns. If your skin is too thin then I suggest not posting anything at all because no matter what the topic people WILL come after you.

As for the most popular topic I would have to say it just did not matter whatsoever in 2004. The most popular style was confrontation and it didn’t really matter what the topic was, it was usually the same ole bunch arguing between each other. You know all of the forum characters, the topic happened to change from time to time. Topics were of little consequence. Responding, confronting and ganging up on specific people was what contained the most passion and drove the forums. It is my opinion that trolling and personal attacks won out in 2004!

Please avoid using the forums for personal attacks.

This note from the Basic Forum Policies and Etiquette section of the Guidelines

Private discussions – the forums are a public area for the Second Life community’s use. Individuals who have a dispute with each other have other channels of communication to discuss their differences – private messaging, IM within Second Life, or chatting within Second Life. Threads that are addressed to a single individual are inappropriate on the forums.

Think before you post – sometimes in the heat of a passionate discussion you may be tempted to say something that on reflection you will regret. If your words do more harm to the community than they might give you pleasure in the short term, reconsider posting.

Flaming, Spamming, Trolling – Flaming (posting a message that is intended to incite anger or directly attack a person or persons), Spamming (multiple posts of the same topic or discussion), and Trolling (a post with an intentionally contrary opinion written with the intent of inciting or getting argumentative opinions) are strongly discouraged. If you think your post might be over-reactive, or that it might fall into one of these definitions, please reconsider posting.

Funny, I was going to post something along those lines, Cristiano.

Blake, I do think you mean well. I'm just pretty sure that half the time you're not sure what you mean.

-- ahem, anyway. Keep on truckin'. You'd make a great tabloid reporter, by the way. Ever thought of starting up an SL newspaper? ;)
