Near the end of the town hall Philip mentioned that LL is looking seriously at ways to remove sex from Second Life. After he said it nearly everyone at my repeater location yelled "NO!" and worse. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE remove sex from the real SL world. I SUPPORT THIS!  Can someone confirm if the Supreme Ruler actually said this? I'm looking for a context here. Pandering? Rightousness? |

Zoey, So long as people are NOT fornicating in public places, (aside from mature clubs designated for such purposes), or PG sims what do you care what other people do with their AV's? Perhaps you would like to take steps to monitor each and every chat channel to ensure people aren't cybering each other as well? In fact, why stop at AV sex? Simply remove every emote that has any sexual connotation and make SL just like every other generic MMOG out there. Whether you like or not, sex is a big part of human interaction. If you don’t like the idea of 'AV Sex' then abstain from it - don't visit to places that offer it. As in your First-Life you have the choice to participate in the action or not. Instigating a moral crusade, simply on the basis that you don't like the fact that other players can have 'AV Sex' is obtuse. What people do with their AV’s, in private, is really none of your business. SL is rated 'M' for mature for a reason. |

Sex is one of the elements that make this game unique, you can express your love for your partner like most games you cannot. I suspected this since a partnership with ebay and who knows what other investers. If you want to turn this game into "The Sims" make a seperate engine for teens and minors, oh but I guess it's easier just to convert and satisfy big daddy with the kids that want to play. You take sex out of the game you take out intimacy. And yes, I have a real life girl, so what? There are people that have gotten married from meeting one another on this game and still enjoy the AV Sex. If you don't like it go to a PG area or play "The Sims Online" and be bored. How many of you people have come to this game from "The Sims Online" and why minus the building and money making aspects?

She instigated this a long, long time ago, cried all over the forums about it it, was edited several times for personal attacks when people took issue (just as they are now, and rightly so), and has just kept dredging it up every few weeks ever since. Honestly, it reminds of of this girl that I grew up across the street from who was always worried about what everyone else was doing instead of herself. It's kind of like when homophobes take out their own issues on other people who in no way bother them. Maybe she has sex issues and is taking it out on those who don't share the same hang-ups. Lonely is as lonely does, I suppose. _____________________
