Or at least to raise the limit to 20-25?

The current limit of 15 grups max you can be part of is terribly limiting for merchants that have stalls in many malls *and expecially new merchants need the visibility malls offer like air), i had to pull out of all the social groups i was part of one by one to make room to mall groups (most malls require you to set their group to set down your items, otherwise they wouldnt be able to keep the place free of littering items) and now i touched the limit again and this is severely limiting my expansion capabilities (this expecially sucks when im offered free space and i can-t join the group), and i'm sure many other expanding merchants are having the same bad problem.
Moreover i would like to be able to mantain a couple social groups as well... one can't be all business all the time...
I really don't see the point in limiting groups one can be part of, so please consider raising such limit, or maybe removing it completely :)

Thank you

25 is a good number for me in the near future, until such time that more expansion becomes necessary. I'm maxxed out at 15, all of them good groups that are important to me that I actively participate in. :) I know I am far from the only one who holds such sentiments... please consider more groups, Linden family. Thank you. :-)

Agreed, I'd even be willing to pay a *SMALL* weekly fee for each group over 15.

Especially if you need to form a number of functional or logistical groups, i.e., event members and event staff. I am a member of four such groups, leaving eleven slots for other group affiliations. I can understand the limit from a social perspective, but given that groups can be used to manage land and object holdings, perhaps the answer is to separate the two into separate "group types."

Its probably to stop st00pid n00bs like me from making groups to get kewl new titles. Took me so long to realize I could just change the title in the group options  Otherwise I would have about 1000 groups.

Anyhow groups are fun, the more we can have the better :D

I thought the group limit was 10. Did the Feted Inner Core hold a meeting without me? :(

The group limit was just recently raised to 15, after begging for the option for all of about a year and a half - I don't know if there is some technical reason why they keep the limit low, but if it took 1.5 years to get 5 more groups, then you are in for a long wait to get up to 25.

Hopefully better land management tools will allow vendors to not have to join some arbitrary group just to have items not be returned - it is not what the group system was originally designed for.

I'd fill up any number of groups.

Phoenix posted when they raised the group limit to 15... he said it was a "hack" to get it up to just 15, and that extensive database reworking was required to make a higher number allowed for residents.

well... guess some more database work is in order, the limit as of now is just that, terribly limiting, and i don't see even one logic reason to keep it, to be honest...

That's an interesting number, 15. Sounds like they had a fixed size field to store group pointers in or something.... so make another whole column, and call it "other groups". :p

Well 255 would certainly be nicer. I've had to leave basically all social groups because of having vendors that are required to be set to group.

Yeah Roberta, and it would be nice for merchants to be able to be part of some social groups as well sometimes :P

Yes, it is extremely ridiculous the amount of groups. Here we NEED the groups for setting up shops at malls. I had to leave all my social clubs too and not only that, hurt the feelings of some of my friends for leaving their groups. Some of them are not designers so they wouldn't understand the need.

I think this limit is not necessary. In There.com I had over 30 groups and was fantastic and I wasn't eve a designer. I could go to the list of groups and just add interesting ones and go visit their headquarters locations and make tons of friends too.

Please do something about this. I can't put any more of my clothes anymore in any shopping malls and limiting myself from great areas and islands. Some have offer me to put shops for free and place my fashion magazine.

Please consider this....

Another column, that could be, but why do we have to have are groups visible?

Can we get the option of listing some groups and not others?

If you are an Officer of a group, you can make it invisible to others who aren't in the Group... go to the Group Info, and make sure the following is unchecked:

Show In Group List

and "Show Members In Group List" too if ya want.

Cheerio :)

Kind of. I think there are two reasons for this
1: Database issues (dont know much about this)
2: Transmission issues (I believe groups are all sent in a single packet along with other information about the avatar, and there isnt much room availible, it's going to need a rework to allow more)

I can't believe any mall owners haven't gotten together yet and created a mall guild group.
