From: Sensual Casanova hmm I think she was approached and questioned several times, I may be mistaken, but I think she answered it as best as anyone could without predicting the future. There is no future predicting needed in answering what steps are they going to take to ensure that adult content is not part of the grid, any more so than there is in asking how they intend to keep adults out of the grid. No crystal ball is needed to have a clear answer to how they are going to handle it. It could have been "we are not going to screen any content"...all the way to "we are going to approve all texture uploads, as There does". The answer given didn't address either, which is why I asked for clarification on it.

I don't know what THERE is like, I have never played, but LL can not ensure those things, textures are not the problem when it comes to mature content... there can be a "Green Fate" Jr on the teen grid that creates working genitals... The only thing LL can do in this case is hope mature content is abuse reported by fellow teen players and from there they will take action.

I agree with you Sensual. It's my responsibility as a mom to make sure my child is not engaging in inappropriate behaviors on the computer, as well as anywhere else. At least to the extent where I have that influence. I have a 14-year old girl who I would and do trust to be online chatting with school friends. I also have been given no reason to not trust her in other decisions regarding choice of friends and what she does when I'm not around. However ... I believe that there are a LOT better things she could be doing with her free time rather than playing teen SL! She has homework, band, orchestra, is involved with another youth group, volunteers her time with fundraisers and attends many school events. Hardly even enough time to clean her room - or at least that what SHE says! I much rather have her spend her time doing those kind of activities. She uses the computer to IM with her friends for a bit every day, and I'm even concerned about that. I know from personal experience, that SL can somehow magically make time disappear, and I don't want two SL addicts in the house! (Besides we only have one computer!) Linden Labs is a private for profit company and can make their own decisions. I'm not personally crazy about the idea, because I believe that kids who aren't involved with other activities and spend lots of time on teen SL have an ever increasing chance of coming into contact with predators of all types. However, their parents need to take responsibility for how their kids choose to spend time and money ... and need to make their own choices about whether or not they want their child participating in this on-line world. Most kids will probably have lots of fun, and then there are those kids who will see this as an opportunity to act out, and THEN there are those adults who take advantage of their naivete. I know I won't let my daughter waste her time on teen SL, but that's one parent's choice. As long as children are living in the family home, parents have the responsibility to ultimately make that choice. Or at least ensure that their kids aren't getting into something they may not be able to handle or appropriately enjoy. And that's my .02 discordia

From: Weedy Herbst Suggestion:
Create a offline version, where kids can learn how to create. Afterall, this is about kids learning.
There are too many flaws in the current plan. Sharing your creations with others and working in groups is my favorite part of SL. An offline version could be done with Blender or Maya. The online part is what makes SL what it is. Don't lose that.

He has created far more than genitals, if you have a chance take a look at his other objects such as the rune board or his candles.

From: Sensual Casanova That wasn't the point of my post... You are absolutely right. I was out of line. The post has been edited and I hope you will accept my apology.
