I think they reached the limit of how many identical objects named "object" the server could handle.

Well hey........ I figure it could be much worse... I mean.. I have a half skunk half human just hanging out there.. And some of the items wouldnt come up to make it either fully human or fully skunk sooooooo,,, Think of the positive.

Hey, i'm surprised the forum's already here. Production crises are never fun.

Do hope we get our stuff back tho. Gonna cry if I lose some of my things. Hours of work.

But maybe I just don't understand the situation.

That's just your basic case of spin control, LL style

But really, they should have someone not working on anything else but keeping the users informed, posting more information as they get it. Show progress, give estimates, reply to user's questions, look for useful suggestions and so on. Not knowing status is not a good thing.

Public relations, really.

"We're having a problem with the asset server." Right. Kick everyone at once. Hmm. Must be a bad problem if you're pulling the plug. How bad is the problem? Does it mean I'm going to loose some of my stuff? Or is it something basic as running out of diskspace for log files?

WANT. TO. KNOW.

Spin control. If one's not there to provide info, people will start thinking about worst case scenarios. Bad.

Oh well, let's just hope it doesn't take as long as the login problems around christmas.

At this poing, I'm beyond PO'ed. After all this crap, I hope LL is taking REAL GOOD CARE of their precious Kid Grid.

I'm anxious to see how many MORE items come up missing from my inventory AND how many more emails I get from a Linden telling me the item(s) is(are)n't in my inventory.

I have to ask, why is it so hard to put a replication cluster in front of the main asset server? It's just HTTP. Any web site in existence uses it, and any company worth its salt has theirs hosted on a distributed system. Wouldnt it be mostly the same thing?
