If we're talking TV shows, then the original Grinch trumps all.

Speaking of TV shows, I remember an incident involving my baby brother who is now a big-time MD in Charlotte.

We were all sitting around the TV, watching "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer", when my brother went running out of the room and into his bed sobbing his eyes out. My mom quickly followed him in and tried to comfort him.

She asked, "Why the tears?".

He answered, "... because all the other reindeer are picking on Rudolph".

That's still a story I bring up whenever I want to put my big-MD-brother back into his boots :)

Mine is definitely "A Christmas Carol". Although I enjoy all versions of it, the one I have watched every xmas since I was a little one was the 1951 movie starring Alastair Sim.

YES! Alastair Sim = THE Ebenezer Scrooge.

Although "Thank You Very Much" in the Finney musical rocks.

An additional favorite...The MST3K version of Santa Claus Conquers the Martians. Had some fun times sharing with the family.

Probably A Christmas Story and It's a Wonderful Life.

There are a ton of Christmas movies out there I never heard of found on this Christmas Movies link.

The oddest Christmas movie I saw was Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.

I love Bad Santa. I think that's my new #1.

I tend to look for Rudolph this time of year. Or the old Frosty the Snowman. I think those stop motion animations are great.

A Christmas Carol with George C Scott is really good too.

I can never forget the scenes in A Christmas Story. Licking the poll. Dinner at the Chinese restaurant. The woman leg lamp.

Oh I can't forget Scrooged with Bill Murray. I just can't get out of my head Mary Lou Retton playing Tiny Tim and doing backflips.

edit:
Oh I loved
Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066327/ )

I hope the networks still show it every year. It's the same people who did Rudolph. ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058536/ )

I vaguely remember The Year Without a Santa Claus ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072424/ )

and Rudolph's Shiny New Year ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0073640/ )

Looks like all these are directed by Jules Bass and Arthur Rankin Jr.

Yanno I almost put that movie down too, but is it more of a Halloween movie or a Christmas movie? LOL

An honorable mention to the Married with Children Christmas episode with Sam Kineson.
Not really a movie, but to funny to leave out.

If you havn't seen it, it's a spoof of "It's a Wonderful Life". Long-suffering Al wishes he'd never been born, and his guardian angel (Sam Kinison) apears to show him what the world be like if this was true.
What's different? The house is beautifully decorated, his uncaring family is absurdly sweet and loving (to a different dad).
Al's horrified, sarcastic reactions to this are hilarious. Anyone who's ever felt like an outsider watching other people have all the fun will sympathize. Add Sam Kinison's frequent screaming meltdowns and you have a a holiday classic.
