UnDisputed Winner of the Game of SL is....

I can't help but get a chuckle out of the arguing and backbiting going on here. Can't we just agree to disagree and enjoy SL in our own way? I've managed to meet several people of similar interests to mine, and I spend my time with them, not making huge amounts of money, I own the land I wish to own, I spend the money I spend here the way I want too. I'm not competing with someone else, I'm not "famous" (except among those whose lives I've touched). I'm perfectly happy in my little corner of SL. This really isn't a competition, there are no winners or losers, merely people enjoying their time here in their own way.

Nope, I sure don't expect them to behave *differently* in SL. I expect them to be more like RL. That's why it continues to dismay me a bit that they are *more roaring fucktards in SL than they are in RL and behave insufferably in ways they couldn't get away with in RL.*

Are you spreaking of the conspiracy of common sense over ridiculous rhetoric. Yes..let me be the first to admit..it does exsist.

Some folks post ridiculous, self-serving, paranoid, or outright mean-sprirted things on the forums. Lets call them the LOM (Look at me!). They need attention so badly, and are so insecure, that they create mysterious and evil groups to lump everyone into that don't agree with them, or give them the recognition of granduer that they feel they must have.
Then there is the CSC (common sense crowd), who don't play along with such fantasies and self-martyring, and tend to disagree and take issue with the posts made by LOM, sometimes about content, and all too often about presentation.

So indeed there is a conspiracy. The LOM, who began the twisted and devious plotting, and the CSC, who reacted to it when it was shoved in their faces. So the cat is out of the bag. Now you know.

Lots of other online environments out there. I hear SWG has a real mature player base. Might wanna give them a try to increase your own enjoyment and relieve some of your obvious stress.

Joseph, I hate to break it to you, but there is a segment of the playing base that simply cannot be happy unless they feel they have more, are known more, are regarded higher, or can be the martyr of some generically and conveniently quiet 'majority' who just happens to think the same way they do.

And Joseph, believe it or not, you're one of the purported 'majority' that everyone is so busy trying to speak for here. Happily, you've just revealed that not only does no one speak for you, but you actually do not even CARE what they are speaking about, and none of it even affects you in your day to day play in Second Life.

Of course you do realise they will ignore your admission because it would rather upset their apple cart and, of all things, that cannot be permitted. Be advised, Joseph, should you continue to demonstrate there is a huge error in their 'logic', you will undoubtedly become a target and magically morph into 'The Reason For Everything That Is Wrong In Second Life' (TRFETIWISL for short, mind you).

Actually, I think the mere act of speaking, regardless what you say, immediately results in your placement in some convenient category so whomever is on the soapbox today doesn't have to actually consider your words and can use any number of convenient and reflexive replies without too much thought required.

I also got a chuckle out of Anshe's post. Especially where it got to "OMG! NERF ANSHE!"

I still want to marry Anshe.

Think about it; She taught sex classes, works really hard to make alot of money and seems to be driven to work more and more and make more and more money.

So...if she can cook...well damn..what more could any man need??

I'll stay home and take care of the kids (shuffle them off to school or daycare or the street) and keep the house clean (hire a very attractive and desperate immigrant that doesn't speak any of the same languages as Anshe)!
