I am not a beta player, have never ahd any meeting with beta-buddies about anyone in SL, never neg rated anyone, have not joined any mass-anything, do not know any Linden-alts, and have never had power to loose in SL.

I simply have done my best to play this game by the rules of the TOS.

Yet you continue to mistake me for someone else.

FYI Ansche, I sent Robin Linden an eMail today asking if I could announce this at the Town Hall meeting.

She never replied to my email.

Unfortunately Seth, myth or unconcious conspiracy, there is a group of individuals who wish to set the agenda in SecondLife.

Whether Merwan is consciously apart of this or not is a question for debate, however this mentality clearly exists.

What we need to do is let linden lab create an ecology of ideas where evolution can occur and the best ideas will win out - regardless of what the special interests groups think.

I believe a very strong case can be made that Anshe is well aware of that evolution and is one of the very very few that is looking for ways for SL to truly survive beyond some charity situation where venture capital is slowly frittered away to keep a few beta charter members happy.

And how is endlessly rambling on about conspiracy theories and problems that don't actually exist working towards that end? Funny, but I wouldn't have thought singling out the worst of all ideas for endless repetition to be a very effective means of cultivating good ideas, especially since you ignore anything that doesn't fit your preconceived notions. Nice bit of self aggrandizing there, but you're not fooling anyone.

Mostly because I think you're a smart guy and you have a lot of interesting things to suggest. I find it a little (not much though) sad that you don't appreciate my point of view more, but that's ok because I generally learn quite a bit from reading yours.

Well, now, here you're saying something.. But I don't agree. I don't regard LL as my nanny-in-SL. The ecology of ideas and a meritorious selection process is up to you, blaze. And me. And everybody else. If you're not part of the group, you can do several things. You network the group. Or, you build something so wonderful that no one can deny it. Or, you tell the group to piss off and go your own way in SL.

Your problem, and Prokofy's, is that you're both soft-hearted utopianists, dreamers, and crusaders. You really expect people to behave differently in SL than they do in RL.

Nope. Revolutions are always messy, exact a moral price, and replace one group with another. (It's called "restribution of property" and it works. And no, I'm not a leftist.) It sucks, yes. We ought to behave differently, yes. It's normal, yes.



I agree that venture capital is often wasted in SL. But that's because SL doesn't really have an economy, yet. Contracts, arbitration, rule of law, necessary structured financial system, etc. Anshe is one of the "very, very few" who have been able to impose her own rules on a lawless, unstructured, wasteful economic environment. Good for her. If I had the same interests she does, I'd have tried to do the same thing.

SL's a frontier town. A few guilds, and a few patronis with private armies controlling certain valued commodities. The railroad hasn't come through yet. When it does, things may change dramatically.

But, I see myself getting listened to, even if not acknowledged. And I stand against prok, and others, that claim there is some conspiracy at work here. You certainly seem to tie yourself to that claim, even if not intended...

No, I don't wonder about it because I'm intimately aquainted with the reason... your posts annoy me. Anyone who posts with "an agenda" annoys me. Agendas are like earplugs that prevent you from listening. The fact that you're still propogating the myth of the FIC and techi-wiki-whatever is proof of it. If the issues you liked to harp on were benign it wouldn't bother me, but they're not. They create division, suspicion, and resentment. I've never thought trying to drive a wedge between various segments of the SL population to be a particularly noble goal.

Also anyone have any tips on killing Philip Linden? He keeps using that damn freeze/suspend combo and I get kicked out of the last boss area for a week. I even tried using the Sword of the FIC but he just ignored it.

Blaze does generally strike me as Goebbels to Prokofy's Hitler--sorry guys, but certain aspects of 20th century history have given the "Enemy Within" power-bid a bad name.
