Nono, I would never desecrate peeps! I just buy bizarre stuff. The alligator is a stapler, and the little fuzzy chicks came in a box all lined up next to each other.

So was the objection about feeding the 'gator chickens w/their splintery bones that might hurt its throat?

OR

Are they vegans and object to ANYONE eating ANYTHING that had a face (or however it gets determined)?

OR

Is the concern for the psychological damage done to the chicks waiting in line to be consumed, the anticipation?

OR

Could it be that they're afraid that it's toy chicks today, ignorant, humorless, corporate goons the next?

OR

Seriously, I'd ask them how you could change the display to make it work acceptable. Make them describe, in this way, specifically, what part of it is hostile.

So, you're not actually saying no, but you are making them waste their time and driving home how trivial of a matter it is
