finishing up my senior year in college, majoring in Multimedia Arts and Sciences with a concentration in Interactive Design. which basically means i know how to use everything Macromedia or Adobe has ever done... more or less. Little bit of MAYA, little bit of hard core HTML.. little bit of Java... anyone wanna hire me in five months??
 and yes, some people seem smart... tho others are very very dumb... |

devlin, just tick it off. i'm about 6-7 weeks from defending my thesis but i cheated and ticked off having it. remember +- 3%, 19 times out of 20.

Meh... schooling isn't a ticket to intelligence. even if you do get the degree or whatever.
I went for 1 year of college and couldn't take it anymore. One of my favorite hobbies is learning new things... and school has never been my favorite place to do it. Needless to say, I own two small businesses now and do whatever I want. It's pretty awesome. _____________________

I started college in 1978. I will graduate with a BS in Information Technology / Networking in March of 2005. A twenty-seven year degree! I hate school.
I have worked in IT since 1984, so I degree doesn't do anything for me, other than serving as insurance. My opinion is that a college degree is nothing but a piece of paper showing you belong to the club. I have met too many people with post-graduate degrees that were simply ignorant and many others who could hardly spell their own name. _____________________

B.S. - everyone knows what *that* is M.S. - More of the Same Phd. - Piled Higher and Deeper They're called gradual students because they're only gradually learning they don't want to be in school anymore. |

i agree completely that degrees do not guarantee intelligence, but our information society, there is a correlation, since getting ahead generally requires some kind of education. but that's nothing experience does not provide either.
i don't think it's surprising that half of the respondents have bachelor degrees, and many others have some form of post secondary education. one of the criteria that encourages this outcome is the age limit. zuzu - sign me up for slow learner! i almost got a degree in b.s. before switching. _____________________
