The right to be secure in your possessions has been stated to mean Privacy by everyone from lawyers to the Supreme Court.

Additionally, right to privacy as a concept has been supported by the Supreme Court as an unenumerated right under the 9th Amendment, and as a penumbral right served and protected in a complex of the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Amendments

Doesn't apply to a private system like this, though... :)

Clearly.
I was supporting Magnum's response to a line of thought which began with:

The constitution doesn't guarentee a right to privacy.

Didn't' mean to highjack the thread by that.

It is not anyone's business how much money I do or don't have... and it should be within my rights to decide if they should know or not...

i quite agree.

The leader boards have never made any sense. They are about as useful as the rating system. Holding any large quantity of Lindens doesn't make any sense either. Do like the rest of us do - cash out on a regular basis and put the money somewhere where it will at least earn a little interest.

I agree. The leader boards, especially net worth, are an invasion of privacy. They should be done away with. SL is not a game. We don't need 'High Scores'.

Here's a pretty popular list it took me about 5 seconds to pull up.

Forbes 400 Wealthiest List

In the real world, if you are a CEO, an athlete, a celbrity, a politician or any number of things, what you earn and what you are worth are readily available.

If you don't want to be hassled by some people asking for advice, then live a quieter second life. Otherwise, try to realize that its part of being high profile (which you are in SL) and deal with it.

Just as you can get off the leader boards you can stay off those rl list also.
