From: someone Which laptop do you have? I have a Dell Inspiron 600M with 1.6 Pentium M, 1 gb of ram, a 5400 rpm 30gb drive and an ATI Mobility 9000 64mb card. It runs SL flawlessly. Never any graphics glitches at all. Granted, my draw distance is set to 96 and most of the chrome type options are off, but it is still a great SL machine. I purchased it from a regional store named PC CLUB. The performance is fine, just the textures are a problem. I admit that I have not updated the drivers since last February. I should do that. Alan, if you have any info about the drivers that you are using, I would appreciate that. Also, the 10,000 RPM SATA drive wil give me better load times, and faster hard drive seek times. With 1 gig of ram, I might not need the page file too much, but accessing data on the HD will be quicker with a 10,000 rpm SATA drive. If anyone else has experience with high speed drives, or RAID configurations, any advice would be great to have here in this thread. Champie (sorry I didnt reply earlier Alan)
