I've been meaning to do this for a while and prompted by Eggy's thread and listening to Torley's music, I thought I'd let rip. For those that don't know (there are a few in SL that do) I'm also a bedroom musician, although I haven't written anything for nearly a year now. The music I write can best be described as ambient and electronica and I wrote it under the name Pamplemousse. I've uploaded all my tracks (there's 45 of them) here, if anybody wants to download them: http://www.sldata.com/pample/For a while I had my music streaming on my land in Ganymede so some of you may of already heard some of it without knowing So anyway, who else here is a musician? We now know Torley and Lordlfy are. Anybody else? Any links to your music on-line? Come on, I know there must be a few more out there

Moopf, Well, Viola for a start. Like Viola, I'm on the classical side, and I belong to a local early music group (The Berkshire Recorder Consort) that does the occasional recital (the next one in Oxford). Also I'm a composer, and most things I have written have been publicly performed, if only once!

I see you play the Harp looking at the Berkshire Recorder Consort (as well as recorders which is mandatory ). What a wonderful instrument to be able to play. I'm a pianist originally but also played the Clarinet for a while (mainly due to going to see Acker Bilk when I was young!) and the violin briefly, although never really enjoyed that for some reason.

I'm a drummer at heart, but only ever did it "professionally" back in the punk-rock days.
Just count to four, and do it really loud and really fast.
You should have heard our cover of "Love Will Keep Us Together". We would have made the Captain and Tenille proud. Not to mention Neil Sedaka, who actually wrote the song.

You're a drummer Ace? I wouldn't have guessed. Actually, I play drums too. And a little guitar and bass, but not very well. I just love to write music, and I'd rather have others play the instruments, but it's just me so I make do. Unfortunately I'm too lazy (and busy in SL) to get any good recordings so I can upload them.

http://fireballtrailers.com Is that a bit of British news reel at that start of Highdrogen? I like it Jack and I've always loved your SL vids as well EDIT: I posted before the end of the track where the interviewer says he was in London

I got into making music via MOD/S3M/XM format from '94-'97ish. One of them was in a public performance in my hometown and ended up with a *gasp* standing ovation. I never really found a niche so I have a couple that would be considered classical, a couple techno, one epic/movie-theme-like, and a slow guitar serenade with some heavy jazz overtones. I had a lot of help... this was back in the big demo scene days and I had help from a few artists who are famous today. Man those guys are good at what they do. I was incredibly slow and methodical about the creation process... a single song would take me at least 2 months, 5-8 hours a day. I just don't have that kind of time anymore and the last few times I've looked at composition software it's seemed entirely alien to me. Ah well. At least I have the memories of it.

Ok, I'm a guitarist. I do mostly classic rock stuff, like Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, etc. But I also like to improvise over jazzy chord progressions, and funky stuff Here's a link to some of my stuff: Funky Details: http://www.caggiani.com/edkris/music/Useless_Options-Funky_Details.mp3Lazy Afternoon: http://www.caggiani.com/edkris/music/Useless_Options-Lazy_Afternoon.wmaContemplating Spain: http://www.caggiani.com/edkris/music/contemplating_spain.mp3Forever it is You (a song I wrote for my wife): http://www.caggiani.com/edkris/music/forever_it_is_you.mp3Regarding Axel (an 80's throwback): http://www.caggiani.com/edkris/music/regarding_axel.mp3And by the way, the bass you hear on the first three songs above is Darrly Chang

Moopf, I started with the piano, too, and reached the point of being good enough to do local recitals, but no better than that. I'm not too bad at recorders, but I'm a pretty poor harp player. Mind you, I hope to improve with time. I also have a bass curtal (which is a precursor of the bassoon) and a sackbut (an early form of trombone), but haven't reached the level of basic competence with these. There just isn't time to fit everything in! At the moment feel very much like a jack of all trades; master of none.

Great thread. I annoy people with music I've made / played guitar on / other things constantly. Dragen Zaius is a rockin' drummer. Water Rogers is a damn good guitarist. Outside of this, I haven't heard enough. I enjoy playing my own musical nonsense through the great 1.4 feature of streaming. Crap, I just realized... I made Philip listen to it once. Its THAT BAD. Any way, creativity in SL is on all levels. Musicians unite. And so on. http://www.PhillyMusic.com/ma/-Flip

I once played Percussion for a few weeks in a high school band class, does that count? Let me tell you, I rocked that xylaphone like nobodies business. I envy all you talented artists as I love music and would love to make some of my own, but have very little talent for most things.

I've been listening to www.scenemusic.net for a while now. As for me... I've made a dozen midis with Cakewalk, but have yet to put them on a website. I love the keyboard. I'm also a lyric soprano and have sang in public a few times...but I get too nervous. I used to play the viola just a tiny bit too

Torley, I've setup the stream again, just point your player at (clicking it should also launch it): http://69.73.141.11:8000/listen.plsIt's on random play so will just keep going through all the 45 or so tracks there. I've set the stream up for a max of 20 listeners if anybody else is interested in listening in.

I'm a musician at odds. I play a bazillion different instruments and am always humming a tune I'm dreaming up. I've been a stand in for many jazz and rock bands for the past 10 years or so. I've written my own stuff here n there, but haven't released any of it anywhere. It just hasn't been able to live up to my exacting standards yet. ... though I think my ego is finally taking shape enough. I may actually have a style coming out that I can call my own. However, my love of music has led to the creation of my own record label, Bucket Records. check out www.bucketrecords.netIt's still full of dummy content until we're done tweaking it out. If anyone is a serious musician though, get in touch! It's not your typical label though. If you wanna find out more, info@bucketrecords.net and yeah. (also check out my other website www.simpleninja.com! )
