All I'm suggesting is from past experience and dealing with the new group deeding. I tested and tested myself with a script until i was sure it ran fine. THEN I deeded the object -- not thinking i had to test anymore afterwards, because naturally.. you'd deed the object last. I can totally see this being an accepted scenario. I do agree that they should pay back what was wronged. I, personally, have had only positive encounters with those people... so I will not be judgemental, and brand them negatively--unless their actions would cause me to do so. Ie. I IM them, and tell them that their objects are broke.. and they reply with "d0000d, wh4t R JOO t4lking b0u7!!11??11 U R on Ign0r3 n0W!!".

Linden needs to crack down on these damn griefers. There's a guy who used an in-game exploit to take ownership of a locked item I'd sold, and then distribute copies of same. And he's still in-world.

I can't imagine LL is so hard up for cash that they have to let people get away with HACKING. Chrissake, it's totally malicious behavior.

For what its worth, James Chaos was the one crashing sims on purpose, like it happened at garth and pituca's wedding.
He was banned for it but it seems his account is still very much alive. I know he is a minor but I dont have 100% solid evidence of his age so LL refuses to act upon it.
He told me this was his second account, and that his first one had been canceled because "his little cousin" went into the world with his old account and did some damage.
Of course if you ask a liaison, the "someone else was at the keyboard" excuse is a very old and tired one, but they're still reluctant to kick that guy out permanently

I agree with the sentiment that Ben's new, so he may not know better. Tolerance and education, perhaps.
James Chaos I've talked to, and he just struck me as very... young. Nothing wrong with that, IMO, all I ask is people behave as they would wish to be treated themselves, and I dunno if that always sinks in at a young age. :-/
And jacob I plain Do Not Like. He's the fellow who bounced me round the sandbox and triple-negged me when I behaviour rated him. *takes out LART and pats it lovingly*

I've had an encounter with James Chaos. I was building the first story of my place in Gray, and he had built a large polygonal-thing-in-the-sky as his abode. That's fine, each to his own design ethic. He then asked me to join his group or attach my house to his. Hardly practical, but I just indicated that I was new and trying to get into building, so no thanks.

Then I was talking to my neighbor, Millie, and he started to shoot projectile weapons, etc... I just saw this as harmless, as they weren't pushing me or anything. I couldn't die in Gray anyway, and my house was 10m away. It was more of a annoyance than anything.

We continued our conversation in my place, which I had to encase in glass panels to keep the projectiles out. I subsequently banned him from my land (giving me an excuse to experiment with the land permission feature) and kept on building.

He stopped eventually, then asked me if he could come in. I had already set a $100 L pass for a few hours on the land, mostly as an experiment - I figured if anyone really wanted to get in, then they'd pay.

To my surprise, he did pay the $100 L, and just came in a bit disappointed since I hadn't really fleshed out the build that much. I saw him a week or so later, and feeling bad about him paying the $100 L for the pass, I refunded him the money without him asking for it.

He just strikes me as someone who is pretty young, with all that it entails. For what it is worth, I asked him to stop firing, and he eventually complied. I don't condone scams or any behavior against the TOS, but I think he just needs to confine his fun to the appropriate areas.

I am of the same mindset when I meet an obviously underage player. If they show promise, behave themselves and seem like they might learn something - I don't complain. But, these guys just stepped over that line. Show them the door. Anyone who has spent any time in the sandbox sims know about these guys.

I agree with Sapphire, if they behave, I wouldn't care at all, but if they just start asking me for things, shooting me with push guns and replying back "just testing!", that's what ticks me off. So when you go to Cardova, remember to wear your anti-grief suit, your push-gun shield, and your anti-crying mask.

Oh yeah, and Sapphire, about that plane incedent, where I flew that huge aircraft into your expermiment, sorry(someone forgot to put llGetOwner() in their script hehe)

I can accept that such might conceivably be true, but looking back to Eggy's first post, rezzing a rigged game in someone else's reputable casino does take a staggering amount of ignorance. I'm putting my money on willful intent to defraud. Anyone know the payoff odds for that?

My only experience with this group was with jacob Chen (I think). He stopped by an apartment I had rented at the time, seemed a bit odd (maybe just slow to type) but didn't do anything bad. Anyway I think he liked some of the stuff I had laying around. He did fire a very strong "push" gun at me, but he asked me if he could first, since I had serious doubts that something like that would work at the time. (We were discussing it) hehe...it worked.

Anyway, isn't there a creator or something listed on these machines so you can indentify exactly which av placed them?

Creator was James Chaos I think. Owner was the group as previously pointed out.
Char Linden took a copy and handed it to Colin I think so he would take a look at the script.

I don't like that they are not legally allowed. I hope someday the porn goes and kids are welcomed to SL. They are some really talented kids out there who could learn a lot about scripting.

Personally I can't be in favor of letting kids in. Heck there's some adults I wish would leave as well simply because they have the mindset of a child and it shows. Yes we all have our bad days, but some just seem to have those bad days 24/7.

As for LL restricting access to minors because of porn. So what, can easily get it on the internet. I'd like to think they wanted a more matured game than something where folks come in and go do "d00d. boring game this is lame it suxx0rs my left nut im going back to doom yo."

No. Porn has to stay. While I, personally, can't say I'd like to have kids onboard, I am willing to open up to the idea, *as long as* the M areas (porn included) stays.

Where the hell is all this porn? A bare breast is not pornographic. An artistic photo of the nude form is not pornographic. An object shaped like a phallus is not pronographic. In all my time in SL I have yet to see a single thing I would consider worthy of the label "porn."

In addition to banning juveniles, LL should also ban holier than thou moralists.

I guess I missed those Maxx, hehe. For a long time there was a giant spinning cube on someone's land behind my house that had pictures of shapely women's behinds on it. I thought it was funny (albeit incredibly useless). It grew on me over time as a landmark and when trying to give directions to my house it would often be something like "go to the ass cube a take a left."

That is pretty damn hilarious.
