WARNING: rigged game machine, do not pay it!!!

Do NOT pay any game machine that is group owned! Group owned objects cannot pay out any money, ever, at all!
The "lottery owners" group has been plopping down these big red gaming machines all over the world saying "WIN 20k!!", and they go around telling people how much money they have won at them. Funny that the only people who ever won anything were the ones in the group.
These people did not ask permission to plop them down at the Omega Games arcades, neither did they pay for a booth.
My apologies to those who may have been hurt by this trickery.

jacob Chen? That's the guy who was trying to grief me by rezzing a bunch of cages to chase me down and imprison me.

Its funny, that everyone your named, ive spent time with (even waged a war agianst one, I won that one, and thanks to me, jessies a little cleaner), and imo, they should all be banned for griefing/being underage. Call me harsh, but if YOU have spent time with them, youll agree.

Lynch mob? I dont like that idea. I think the ones affected should file abuse reports and the others should not play the machines.

Not to defend or endorse anything here, but I know one of those guys is barely a week old and may have been duped into the group, then again, who knows.

Lynch mob mass neg rating is not the way to go. Abuse reports by those affected, if they cant work it out, is the solution.

Ha, that reminds me, on my second day in SL, i was trying out building in the old Olive, and someone flew up and asked straight out for money for the "subway project" in Jessie. I said I didn't know what he was talking about, and that I don't give money to strangers. I didn't catch the guy's name. What cojones, and what a stupid strategy for duping people.

Oh and what Loki said...I support that. And what everyone else said too: good catch, Eggy, and good for you for calling attention to it.

Not to throw a wrench in the monkey.... but do you think it *might* be slightly concievable that they didn't know that group owned objects didn't pay out... as an oversight? In fact, I had completely overlooked this with an object i have group deeded (not as bad as a lottery machine though -- pay right amount, otherwise refunds. In this case it would just take your money).

At anyrate... I'd suggest contacting the officers as to an explanation and/or refunds/winnings. It could have been a simple mistake. We ALL know where miscomunications and simple human errors can lead to in an enviorment where connotation is limited.

i didn't know that group owned objects couldn't pay. whether they knew what they were doing or not is beside the point though because it can only be argued, not proven. they are, of course, responsible for refunding all the money collected. good call eggy.

loki is right. let the griefees file the neg rating and abuse reports. that's how the system is supposed to work. it's a bit hard for me to be very sympathetic for people who lost money gambling. do you not always lose more than you win. it's like paying a lot for a few moments of entertainment.

I agree about the ages of these guys. Lindens do something about this. It is blatantly obvious if you ever spend even a few minutes around them. (Agreed that the youngest member may have been duped.)

As far as it being a legitimate mistake, when money is involved you test, test and retest before putting something out to the public. Knowing these guys they 'borrowed' a script and didn't bother to test at all. Ineptitude is not an excuse. Sorry about the losses guys, good luck getting your money back.
