From: qDot Bunnyhug Beatfox, I think they meant "3D" in terms of perspective corrected graphics in games shown on a monitor in 2D. All the math considers things in >2 dimensions, but the end result is a 2d picture even though we call it 3d Okay, I guess I misunderstood, then. I though Nyoko was talking about your stereo method versus the stereo driver & shutterglasses method, when she was actually comparing stereo imagery in general to plain ol' non-stereo 3D-rendered images. Did I get that right?

Yup. Though I kinda have to agree, even with my version... I want HoloSL! Everyone pile on votes to the SL Holodeck Proposition!

From: SuezanneC Baskerville I can't get my eyes to cross enough to merge the images, not for this or the one above. It takes a little practice. One thing that helps is starting with smaller pictures (cause they are closer together). You could also stick the pic in photoshop and zoom OUT (making it smaller) and try again. When you get it, zoom in a little at a time while maintaining focus.

yes, 'stereoscopy' as opposed to '3d-on-a-2d plane'

sorry; i didn't really have much of a statement - just jumping up and down over more stereoscopy-with-sl experiments; there was another thread recently on the subject... mainly just interested in seeing the breakthrough hardware/software combo that really breaks true-3d monitors into the mass market.
last i knew of was a toshiba monitor being developed, but taking a brief google-look myself, i didn't seem to find one immediately identifying itself as a 3d monitor. has anyone worked with one of these 'reticulated' monitors (think i got that right? - goggleless viewing; similar to 3d prints/photos)... curious how well those resolve to the eye.
