Mmmm, some sharp cheddar eaten with a sliced-up, Washington State apple (the Pacific Rose variety is especially sweet) sounds really good; add a bagel and a glass of fruity wine, such as a riesling or gewurztraminer, and call it lunch.

This letter has three main sections. In the first, I argue that Cubey Terra's half-measures have gotten way out of hand. In the second, I make it clear that Cubey's confreres give noxious gadflies (also known as Cubey's peons) far more credibility than they deserve, as though it were a disgrace to create and nurture a true spirit of community. And in the third and final section, I conclude that pragmatic adherence to concision necessitates that I delete a plethora of thoroughly unflattering adjectives regarding Cubey's viewpoints. With this letter, I hope to allay the concerns of the many people who have been harmed by Cubey. But first, I would like to make the following introductory remark: One thing that Cubey does well is quote me out of context. That shouldn't surprise you when you consider that he would have us believe that his vices are the only true virtues. Such flummery can be quickly dissipated merely by skimming a few random pages from any book on the subject. Even if our society had no social problems at all, we could still say that I am convinced that there will be a strong effort on his part to call evil good and good evil in the immediate years ahead. This effort will be disguised, of course. It will be cloaked in deceit, as such efforts always are. That's why I'm informing you that this is a lesson for those with eyes to see. It is a lesson not so much about Cubey's audacious behavior, but about the way that Cubey's mind has limited horizons. It is confined to the immediate and simplistic, with the inevitable consequence that everything is made banal and basic and is then leveled down until it is deprived of all spiritual life. The greatest quote I ever heard goes something like this: "Cubey, perhaps more than anyone, should take seriously the challenge to fight the good fight." Lastly, I can't end this letter without mentioning that Cubey Terra's grunts work behind the scenes to reward those who knowingly or unknowingly play along with Cubey's expedients while punishing those who oppose them.
