I was able to get in a few minutes ago. Was a tight squeeze, but then the sad happened and I had to relog back in... and so here I am in the queue... :|

try clearing your cache both in your temporary internet files and also in your sl cache... It helps a tremendous amount - happy trails !

How do you do this? I uninstalled SL and Re-installed it

Ah you're looking for a directory like:

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\SecondLife\cache

And then you del those files appropriately and restart SL.

Alright- so now it's been... *looks at the clock* 35 minutes and I still can't log in.

I'm experiencing the same problem- wait patiently in login queue (why is this word spelled like this.. does anyone know?) ... then, finally... fetching inventory... but when it begins to search for the server I crash to the login page. No error messages- just a kick in the pants back to square one.

I posted this issue in the hotline to Linden section of this forum... I think the hotline must be on the same broken server... yoo hooo.. wake up kids, time to turn the server on!!

One more thing.. if anyone is fortunate enough to actually get online- can you please contact an online Linden when you arrive and tell them about the rest of us poor shmoes panting at the locked Linden gates.

I'm now getting "Second Life closed for Maintenance."

Lovely that they could inform us about this instead of taking the servers offline.

Now I am getting "Second Life is closed for mantinence. Only Employees may log in." But I doubt this has anything to do with the new version, as wouldnt that be a scheduled downtime?

Well I did something more drastic. I un-installed and the re-installed it, I found those folders but they are empty Since I seem to have discovered that SL is closed for emergency maintanence.

I think I will go to bed
