Club Player Griefers on the Rise. Go ahead Punk..make my Day!

Club Player Griefers are on the Rise. In the past 2 weeks I have observed an increase in Club Player Griefers, you know; the ones that come into a Club with a Semi Automatic and start shooting up the place like it's Dodge City, sending you 300 meters out from the Club you were dancing in.

The issues concerning the upskirts is one of contreversy of course, but; the issue of Players assulting Club Dwellers is one of inconvenience.

I was dancing at a Contest at Jasmines a Club 2 nights ago in SL and votes had started and all of a sudden "BOOM"! Im looking around at Grass! Well..I get my self and coordinates straight from disorientation and have to re-map the Club where I was, and that's if I remembered the name of the Club, in which luckily I did, so; I fly back to the club and the place was packed previously now I am only seeing like 3 or 4 Avatars, im like WTF happened? Someone sent a Rocket or Bomb or whatever into the Club and cleaned the place out!

Last night Im at "The Edge" Club dancing and enjoying myself, all of a sudden I hear shots fired; I look around and this guy with a SWAT group title is firing off his Semi Automatic at people, then he turns towards me and starts firing, I out mauneuver him pull out my Web Spinner and Cage him, then I pull out my assult weapon and blow hiim away. He comes back a second time, starts shooting again, I do the same, cage him then blow him away.

He sends me an IM saying "You better stop pushing me", I told him "Don't point that gun at me". He replied "Don't push me!" And he comes back and he's carrying his Assult Weapon on his shoulder. Now I am forced to constantly watch this guy as to see if he tries to retaliate.

About 15 minutes later, another Avatar dressed like a Robot comes in and starts shooting at people, well; I pull my weapons and the result is the same as before.

It is getting very inconvenient to say the least and I am sick and tired of it. Warning: IF you come into a Club with an armed Assult Weapon expect to meet "Grass". Because I am not going to wait for you to assult me, your intentions are clear; if someone is wearing a weapon, they are a target...that's the way I see it, and I turn Vigilante. Go ahead Punk, make my day!

He started shooting at me first. Read the 1st Post Willow...he turned towards me and started firing.

WEll when he turned towards me he started firing..I just didn't put the "he started firing" in..but yes..he did..so now I add it, because it is fact.

Well, I think it's an issue; im not the only one it happens too.

Oh I am not saying I don't agree with your original post Blake, but it just sounded like you were calling him a griefer, yet you shot him, and caged him and did whatever to him, so therefore it kinda makes you both griefers.. I dunno, maybe its my birthday cake going to my head

Actually it's called defending ones self.

When ppl shoot me, accidently or not, I don't go gunning after them with my re-log guns blazing cos it simply ain't worth it, report em, move on..

It was no accident, and if someone comes into a Club armed with a weapon, there is intent in my book. No other logical reason to come into a Club armed. Go into a real life Club with a armed weapon and see what happens. lol.

this kind of attitude and behaviour was the primary reason i stopped hanging out in real life dance clubs. there were always enough holes there to cause a thoroughly unpleseant scene at some point during the night. they'd usually wait until it was very crowded or something special like a show was in progress.

that was hmm around fifteen years ago. funny how some things never change. i don't miss it anymore. come to think of it, i never did. there were plenty of other places to solialize an have fun.

ramble ramble ramble...my point is that i realized that dance clubs harbour that kind of environment and i didn't want to place myself in it. i put up with it too long under the delusion that they were fun places to be and those people were just wrong to mess it up. but they were actually part of the scene and i was wrong to try to bend it all to my will. frankly, it was when i reflected that the management never seemed terribly concerned if there was no "harm" being done.

that was my solution, i'm not preaching or trying to convince anyone that they should follow suite (or is it suit? or both?). just offering my spin and a viable personal solution.

I suspect you mean "Real Life" as in, SL isn't real life; however, getting blown 300 meters is an inconvenience.

You are assuming that everything that looks like a weapon in SL is actually a weapon, and everything that doesn't look like a weapon is not. You're going to pre-emptively blow away the guy with the AK-47 that just makes gun noises while the girl with the glow stick knocks you three sims over. Brilliant.

If you retaliate with a push weapon, you open yourself up to being abuse reported. Arguing "well they shot me first" isn't going to save you.

Your best bet is to IM a Linden and/or file an abuse report.

I was just going to say something to the same effect. Instead, I will just add that people have been suspended for using push weapons against griefers on their own land. Do be careful Blake, we don't want you suspended from SL, that might mean you will be on the forums more.
