As has been said already, the charge is probably in place simply to prevent people from uploading the contents of thier hard drives to the server. If the asset server is staggering now, imagine the load if every wild-eyed probably-underaged type newbie were to up thier bodily noises collection.
The impedament to clothiers is an unfortunate side effect - one that might be relived with a more complete set of preview tools. Being able to view the clothes on the av shape of your choice would be a nice start - perhaps preview it on the current av, with the current clothes? Save a lot of time, too.

Ok, well here is a solution that prevents people uploading their harddrive, but makes it possible to upload the same texture many times: - assign a quota to inventory - let people select their appropriate tiering for inventory contents *wondering what Sensual thinks of this solution * Azelda

I dunno a solution but I do think it would help the economy if all things were leveled out evenly for this type of stuff... Azelda I know you are a scripter, what would you feel about paying $10 everytime you hit save on a script?

I dunno a solution but I do think it would help the economy if all things were leveled out evenly for this type of stuff... Azelda I know you are a scripter, what would you feel about paying $10 everytime you hit save on a script? I'm not a scripter and I know this question wasn't posed directly to me. But I have started playing with scripts and for most of the stuff I do I tend to change things all the time trying to get the right effect with particles. If I had to pay $10 everytime I changed and "saved" a script I would be totally broke in a day or two. Doesn't really make sense anyway since it is still only one script that I might be saving over and over again. I have also spent a great deal on uploading textures that are used for furniture I sell and to texture my buildings. I'm not really sure I see the difference. Except for the most basic building it is likely that you will be uploading textures and thereby be paying the upload fees. Maybe I don't understand the point trying to be made by the post. I think the system works as it is at the moment. Textures (especially when you can make them at very large resolutions) are probably the biggest load on the asset servers. I would think that scripts (when not running) are just text and therefore are not putting much, if any, strain on the servers. I could be totally wrong and would actually like to know the facts about this myself.
