I suggest some form of grey/gray. Maybe the color of this editing box background (not the blue, but the background for the stuff around it). Photoshop says its: ECE9D8

Also taking a look at: http://livefortheone.com/thereforum/index.php

Which is a forum that uses one version under this current vBulletin version and has a pretty nice setup. :)

At first glance it looks great, apart from the glare people have mentioned.

If possible would it be possible to use an off-white for the background. Then it would look really good.

Thanks, Lindens, for listening to people's comments.

Wonderful

Less stressful on the eyes. I'm not having to read the full width of a 17" screen. Thats wonderful. Love the bright color scheme as well :)

This is certainly alot nicer than the jaggy-buttons half-way job they did last week. hehe

Backgound Color -

From: Eggy Lippmann
Yeah, Lindens, for the love of god could you make the background a tad darker, I have to turn my brightness all the way down when trolling the forums.

Any update re: changing the background blue/white to darker colors?

Please...

Literally a "tad" darker:
10-08-2004 15:13
How's that? It's a tad darker, without betraying pixelated white-bg matted buttons.

I'm going back underwater to work on the rest of the 'echo' site. I'll come up for air and to check on yer comments.

Thanks for all yer praise, flattery will get you everywhere.

:D

I see no difference.

It's about readability of the text..

Try refreshing. The white was dumbed down in phases actually. I was using you all as guinea pigs and pushed forth the first change without saying anything... to see if it was enough. It appears that it wasn't :p

So... try refreshing, I just (a couple min ago) uploaded a new bg file so the contrast should be eased up a bit.

Otherwise....

I'll tweek the look in the coming days to see if we come up with an all-pleasing bg.

Off to perspire

I see the difference. It's not pure white anymore. More like a washed out light blue. Cool. Still think it's prettiful. :D

I love it. I cant believe how responsive you lindens are. It's simply unbelievable that you can be bothered to change something as trivial as a background color!

The text box background is definitely better and more readable / eye-friendly. I notice the overall page background is still pure white (basically the borders of the forum). Luckily we don't have to read much text on there - but is there a particular reason to keep it pure white? I could see it going dimmer into the light blue direction and unifying the forum look more - plus being easier on the eyes (big blocks of bright white anywhere on screen are always a strain). It might even work as a bit darker than the text boxes. See the attached image for an example of what I mean...
