While I cannot speak for Sio, I can give my opinion. You know, I actually had this go through my head at first too, but then realized, that I had to remember what the forums mean to me. The friendships that I have made here that I may or may not get to see in world. The forums to me are like a Town Pub. Many of us come here to share our days, the things we enjoy, the things we dislike. Sometimes we need to share a laugh, other times we need a shoulder to cry on. A community of its own has developed on the forums. We have our good times and our bad times, but many of us are always here. And we turn to this community for our wants and needs. We want to share with our friends we have here. And so to me, it makes perfect sense that someone would share such a story of their lives with us here.

True, but I think it is more as well. Sio *appears* to be trying to let others know that someone she knows and cares about is hurting, and she wants others to know so that perhaps some good thoughts can go to the person who is hurting.

My first reaction to this post, other than the fact that it is entitled To Julia, and none of us are Julia, was one of a little discomfort at something so extremely personal being posted here. However, knowing Siobhan and Julia, upon reading the entire post it makes complete sense that it was here. It was heartbreaking to read, and my heart goes out to both Siobhan and Julia. The pain of the loss of a relationship, combined with all of the hurt and recrimination that often occurs after it is over is a lot to bear and move on from. I hope that you both find peace and closure. While it doesn't surprise me that this thread brought out some negativity, it is minor compared to what you have both gone through and I think you did the right thing by posting this here. I hope Julia gets the chance to read it, and that in some small or large way, it can help her pain as well. She is dearly missed.

I agree Pen. Also, it is a way, I think, for Siobhan to truly prove her regret and acknowledge her mistakes. To publically apologize and admit one's faults, while asking for the community's support of another takes some courage.

The letter was an open letter to Julia, in hope she might read it, or if not, then that some of you might know we're both hurting. The part about me being with someone else was only in response to people who wrote, with the best of intentions, that we should try to get back together now.

Maybe in time we will, or maybe just be friends again. But Pendari is right. Spare a thought for Julia... she need your good vibes more than I do right now!

as for siobhan and julia they were two great people i met when i was a newbie and sio...even if your apology never reaches julias eyes, its heartfeltness will affect you in ways you never thought possible...hugggs to you hon
