RL FIC Conference in Philly This Weekend!

We're having the first real-life FETED INNER CORE Conference in Philadelphia this weekend. We would be honored if you would join us, as Vader would say.

On the agenda: The drinking of beer. How does beer affect the brain? We intend to find out through rigorous testing. Also on the agenda will be the sharing of jokes and uproarious laughter!

Confirmed guests: FlipperPA Peregrine, Jennyfur Peregrine, and special out of town "FIC legends" Maxx Monde and Higbee Protagonist... with Hiro Pendragon joining us at some point as well... and hopefully you!

If you're not FIC: We're always looking for new recruits, like COBRA on G.I. Joe. Must have an IQ in the blue-states average range or above, enjoy a good laugh, not take things too seriously, and never intentionally type things like '4u' instead of 'for you', except when in jest or EXTREME drunkenness / lazyness / highness (the last exception is known as the "Darko Exception". Must enjoy run on sentences like the last one, and sentence fragments like this one, and grammar fascism.

The schedule: Friday night, we gather. Saturday from noon on we will be attending the Human Barbecue, a yearly music fest in West Philadelphia with 18 hours of live bands, free food, oh, and I hear they have lots of (good, non-swill) beer too.

If you're up for some FIC mayhem, drop me an IM in world today - we'll be checking IMs before we go out on Saturday, and will return phone calls to let everyone know where we'll be!

And remember... the first rule of FIC club... don't talk about FIC club!

And of course, we must invoke the "Inebriated Login" clause in our FIC membership, so if we do something crazy in SL we don't get suspended/banned.

I believe there will be another HUGE RL FIC recruitment conference this summer in Washington, DC. We will again be examining the effects of beer on the brain!

We have a couple of get togethers in the Philly area per year - this will be the third Jenn and I have attended. Last one we had about 8 SLers attend! It was a blast.

Awwww. I wish I could be there. Somebody will have to have a couple of beers for me And take a picture of y'all drinking my beer so I know you remembered. And don't just have one, I like to have at least three but more is okay.

And regretfully I won't be able to get to the RL FIC ConFab this weekend to see if my application to FIC has been accepted.

There are several FIC members (or wannabees) in Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. Somebody needs to set something up for us. Like on a beach somewhere Wait. I just remembered what my RL self looks like in a bathing suit. How about in a well airconditioned bar.

Well if anyone can get down here to Fort Lauderdale in say late June or July, I know just the place! (I can't organize it before then because I am presently buried under the construction rubble of a remodel). Besides, I haven't submitted my FIC application to Flip yet, so I'm not even sure if I'm sanctioned to hold a FIC party.

Sorry to miss your party Flip. Since I'm on some antibiotics this week I can't even have a drink here in Fort Lauderdale, so someone have a Captain Morgans & Diet Coke for me OK?

As for the Southern Sector of the FIC... that's why we were thinking D.C. for the summer some time! Its halfway between Boston and Florida, and flights to and from are normally pretty cheap!

With all the drinking we're going to be doing for others, when are we going to have a chance to drink for ourselves?!

Awwww..damn..wish I could be there. But I'm from the great NW, and can hardly justify the time and expense to travel that distance, even for great company and beer drinking, on such short notice.

However..if anyone ever wants to do a get together in the Portland OR, or Seattle WA area..that would rock. I know there are some damp SL'ers round these parts...

Who knows, maybe we'll all have so much fun that I'll forget to go back home, thereby starting the first impromptu SL-Commune in RL.
