Of course they're not necessary! Neither is Second Life, or video games in general. The whole point of my SL Porno store is just to prove that you really can do anything here, however difficult it may be. I've probably only ever sold 1 or 2 of those pics, even though they're all for sale, and I don't care atall about that. If you don't like this kind of thing, don't hang around Mature areas, that's the whole reason they labeled areas Mature and PG. Having said all that... don't forget to visit the shop in Olive! lol

Hi I grew up under a very strict regime where killing and military were part of public folklore while at the same time everything erotic was banned and a million rules restricted almost everything that is fun. Since I moved to Europe being able to do with my body whatever I want is such a great feeling. I love it! For me nudity and sex and porn really is like a symbol of freedom and tolerance, something I cherrish after years of suppression The sad thing is that when playing those commercial (mostly American) online games in some way was like back where I had grown up: killing and fighting was ok, but even showing my avatar breast was restricted. So, yes, one major reason why I moved from SWG to SL is freedom to really live out all aspects of an online life. And this includes naughty and intimate and non-standard activities in the way *I* enjoy and not the way some game company dictates to me. I am glad that now in RL I can do with my body everything I want. The same way I believe that when online I should be able to do with my avatar everything I want. When I went shopping in SL and found all those very intimate and non-standard things people created it was such a great feeling of freedom, I felt like a little bird that for the first time in its new life is able to leave a cage Of course the limit is when things intrude on other people's (online) lifes or tastes. But there are those PG and M areas. Maybe it is not enough? Maybe objects should be markable as "mature" and puritan players should have a client side filter? Just an idea

From: someone The sad thing is that when playing those commercial online games in some way was like back where I had grown up: killing and fighting was ok, but even showing my avatar breast was restricted. I'm not sure this is a valid argument in relation to SL. Killing and fighting are only Ok in combat sims like Jessie and Rausch; likewise showing your avatar breasts is Ok in mature-rated sims. There are appropriate and innapropriate places for different kinds of behavior.

Hey now, PG players aren't "puritan".. I wouldn't call myself religious and I definitely have no problem with "M" stuff generally speaking. I just prefer to avoid it in SL sometimes. I guess one reason is that I think that "mature" discussions or humor can sneak into conversations at times, which kind of cuts me out of the conversation (not always) if it heads in that direction. I guess this is because I just don't find "mature humor" (etc) that funny or interesting. Not that I freak when it happens...I just kinda ignore it most of the time. And besides, my Avatar is underage. So yeah, in summary, I think things are good the way they are. (What was my point in typing this?)

WTF is C3PO supposed to be USEFUL for anyway, besides whining? Stupid piece of scrap metal would be more useful recycled as a toaster. But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS!

From: someone Originally posted by Anshe Chung For me nudity and sex and porn really is like a symbol of freedom and tolerance Nicely said, Anshe! I just wanted to add that what people seem to be missing when they talk about how silly the play-acting/simulated sex is, is that the most important organ for sex is the brain. It's our imaginations that make something sexy, erotic or dirty. So it can be quite engaging, because the participants become involved in a shared fantasy and use their imaginations to see past the props and awkwardness. Anyway, don't knock it until you try it
