This time the French are trying to flood our economy with flu vaccines! Will they stop at nothing?

Remember fellow wingnuts, we must oppose all things French.

Take only Freedom Flu Shots not those nasty French Flu Shots.

I haven't seen the commercial. Does it mention mayonnaise on the fries?

Mayo has been foisted off on ignorant, trend-happy Americans as the chic topping for fries. Nothing could be be further from the truth.

The correct topping/dip for French fries is tartar sauce, with just a hint of ketchup artfully swirled in with a relatively clean toothpick.

Those of us maintaining some iteration of the Atkins/So. Beach craze thank you kindly for refraining from promoting these heinous carbo-centric pommes frites and their evil cousins, pommes mashed. Our starch envy may get the best of us, and we cannot be held responsible for our carb-induced manic behavior. You have been forewarned!

Subject: Flu Vaccine

From: someone

How the vaccine works:

Influenza vaccine is produced by growing the virus in eggs. The virus is
killed and processed to create the vaccine, which is given by injection
under the skin. The body then produces antibodies to the virus over the next
two to four weeks. If the immunized person then comes into contact with the
influenza virus, the antibodies attack and kill the virus before it has a
chance to cause infection. The vaccine contains the 3 most likely strains to
be active during the "flu season"

Why the shortage:

Almost half of the nation's flu vaccine will not be delivered this year.
Chiron, a major manufacturer of flu vaccine, will not be distributing any
influenza vaccine this flu season. Chiron was to make 46-48 million doses
vaccine for the United States. Chiron is a British company. Recently British
health officials stopped Chiron from distributing and making the vaccine
when inspectors found unsanitary conditions in the labs. Some lots of the
vaccine were recalled and destroyed.

Why is our vaccine made in the UK and not the US?

The major pharmaceutical companies in the US provided almost 90% of the
nations flu vaccine at one time. They did this despite a very low profit
margin for the product. Basically, they were doing us a favor. In the late
80's a man from North Carolina who had received the vaccine got the flu. The
strain he caught was one of the strains in that years vaccine made by a US
company. What did he do? He sued and he won. He was awarded almost $5
million! After that case was appealed and lost, most US pharmaceutical
companies stopped making the vaccine. The liability out weighed the profit
margin. Since UK and Canadian laws prohibit such frivolous law suits UK and
Canadian companies began selling the vaccine in the US.

By the way...the lawyer that represented the man in the flu shot law suit
was a young ambulance chaser by the name of John Edwards.

Hey Grim, cute story.

Sadly it is a FUCKING LIE. :)

Here's the real deal.

I swear Republicans have no shame when it comes to lying. Although considering the administration setting their examples it is not surprising.

Haha, I love Snopes. I was all poised to swoop down on Snopes and check that story there before I read Neehai's reply. I can't believe more people don't check sites like Snopes before passing on some of the utter B.S. that circulates online.

In other news, Mr. Mathias Chika Mordi has $30,000,000 and he would like for you to have 60% of that. That's right, $18,000,000 waiting for you to claim. It is an excellent opportunity for any Republican out there. It came in the form of an email so it must be true.

From: someone
Mr. Mathias Chika Mordi

Executive Director,

Standard Trust Bank Plc.

6, Ring Rd,Benin City,

Edo State, Nigeria

I am Mr. Mathias Chika Mordi, Executive Director of Standard Trust Bank Plc, Benin branch, Benin city,Edo State. I have urgent and very confidential business proposition for you.On June 6, 1999, a British Oil consultant/contractor with the Nigerian Solid Minerals Corporation, Mr. Smith Lawrence made a numbered time (Fixed) Deposit for twelve calendar months, valued at US$30,000,000.00 (Thirty Million Dollars) in my branch. Upon maturity, I sent a routine notification to his forwarding address but got no reply. After a month, we sent a reminder and finally we discovered from his contract employers, the Nigerian Solid Minerals Corporation that Mr. Smith Lawrence died from an automobile accident. On further investigation, I found out that he died without making a WILL, and all attempts to trace his next of kin was fruitless.

I therefore made further investigation and discovered that Mr. Smith Lawrence did not declare any kin or relations in all his official documents, including his Bank Deposit paperwork in my Bank. This sum of US$30,000,000.00 is still sitting in my Bank and the interest is being rolled over with the principal sum at the end of each year. No one will ever come forward to claim it. According to Laws of Republic of Nigeria, at the expiration of 5 (five) years, the money will revert to the ownership of the Nigerian Government if nobody applies to claim the fund.

Consequently, my proposal is that I will like you as a foreigner to stand in as the next of kin to Mr. Smith Lawrence so that the fruits of this old man's labor will not get into the hands of some corrupt government officials. This is simple, I will like you to provide immediately your full names and address so that the attorney will prepare the necessary documents and affidavits that will put you in place as the next of kin. We shall employ the services of an attorney for drafting and notarization of the WILL and to obtain the necessary documents and letter of probate/administration in your favor for the transfer. A bank account in any part of the world that you will provide will then facilitate the transfer of this money to you as the beneficiary/next of kin. The money will be paid into your account for us to share in the ratio of 60% for me and 40% for you.

There is no risk at all as all the paperwork for this transaction will be done by the attorney and my position as the Branch Manager guarantees the successful execution of this transaction. If you are interested, please reply immediately via this email address immediately. Upon your response, I shall then provide you with more details and relevant documents that will help you understand the transaction. Please send me your confidential telephone and fax numbers for easy communication.

Please observe utmost confidentiality, and rest assured that this transaction would be most profitable for both of us because I shall require your assistance to invest my share in your country. Awaiting your urgent reply.

Thanks and regards,

Mr. Mathias Chika Mordi.

You see, Neehai, people like you are the very reason that I despise most liberals, and their philosophies: tyrannical, hypocritical, and intollerant of anyone whose viewpoint is different from your own.

Cristina darling. I'm not mad at you. I'm mad at the lie.

Surely you can do better than that. Here, go to snopes.com and search for "False". That should give you plenty of message board fodder.

If that doesn't work out you can always pick up a copy fo the Weekly World News. I think Elvis is having sex with an alien this week. Good story. You should post it. :)

OK, now that I've mulled this over a little bit, let me rephrase and see if it helps your confusion any.

I'm a moderate, middle-of-the-road person. I lean left on some issues, and right on others.

What I really despise are extremists, from any faction. In my experience, extremists tend to be tyrranical, hypocritical, and intollerant. Whether it be bible-thumpers, freedom-of-speech activists, people who want their very own .50-caliber machine gun, or gun-banners, they all refuse to see that there's a sensible middle ground. Also in my experience, liberal extremists are worse than most in these areas.

When it comes down to it, I just don't like Clinton, and I don't like Kerry. I have no respect for the U.N. as anything other than a neutral conference room. I have no respect for cowards who would rather hand the U.S. over to an ineffective U.N. than stand up and do what's right. I have no respect for anyone whose political agendas overshadow their basic understanding of what's right, what's wrong, and what's "The American Way."

I have no respect for people who for years/decades have been screaming "too many secrets," and "we have a right to know," but then when the government capitulates and starts releasing more information, they start yelling "You're just trying to frighten us into submission!" Guess what, people, intelligence agencies don't collect information on tea parties and rose gardens, they collect information on viable potential threats to national security. 20 years ago that was thw Warsaw Pact. In this day and age it's international terrorist organizations and the governments/agencies that back them.

I won't vote for Kerry for several reasons. First and foremost, because he's said that he'll basically never do anything without U.N. approval. What exactly is the point of having a sanctioning body that not only can't enforce the sanctions they impose, but won't allow its own members to enforce them? Kerry's published a list of goals and called it a plan, and a whole bunch of people fell for it. Many of those goals, I might add, are not achievable within our political system. Certainly not within 4, or even 8, years.

And who the hell is Cristina, anyway?

You are also a person who posts lies. I could care less what your political leanings are. I do find it odd that someone who posts false Republican propaganda turns around and preaches about not liking extremists.

We've gone over this before. Read the plan not just the bullet points. Naturally he has goals. Most people do when they are developing their plan. Do you read? At all? Ever? Or are you another garden variety soundbite activist?

Sometimes I hate breeders.

As for standing up and doing what it right, I'm all for that as well. Sadly we didn't. We lied to the world and rushed into an unnecessary war looking for elves in trees baking cookies.
