I have a question...
Why does this person's choice of lifestyle have anything to do with the topic? Was that mentioned just to get people against them?
I completely agree that the action of placing a scanner on your land was wrong, and should have been taken care of, but I don't see why the offender's "lifestyle" had anything to do with it. =)
Also, I think it is a little harsh to neg rate anyone without even speaking with them first. I would have left them an IM saying that you don't appreciate your land being used like this, and to please remove the said object. Then if it wasn't removed in a timely manner (24 hours would be enough, I'd imagine), then I would have gone to the next step.
From what I've seen of you on the boards, Brianna you seem like a very nice person, so none of this is said in a negative way.

Taltos,

It doesn't have anything to do with it - you misunderstood the first posting.

I dont know how many times you have had people leaving, building, hiding.. etc stuff on your property, but it doesnt seem too many. I remember my Akea land in particular - I had ppl building love nests from 250 m and up, I had ppl decorating my buildings as they found them boring, I had ppl leaveing empty boxes and I had a neighbour not likeing neat places so he toxic bomebed my place.... you know what I did in the beginning? I did like u said - IMed them. I got an answer every now and then usually "F*ck you" or *Mind your own business* guess what - I stopped being polite about it too. If you want to build - buy land. If you dont and still build, dont be surprised if ppl doesnt take the time to explain why they dont like having your prims (read trash) there. *edit to add: NOT to be confused with Jimmy's 457.987.023.478.237.423.982.684 prim Crow's nest - I was sad to see that go From: Taltos Zadoq From what I've seen of you on the boards, Brianna you seem like a very nice person, so none of this is said in a negative way. Bri Me and Sulu were talking tonight and she brought up an excellent point about neg ratings. Before judging anyone on how many neg rates they have you might want to see how long they have been playing. A little SL hisitory will show for one "The War of Jesse" LOL those were good times during that time ppl were neg rating each other left and right. So pat your self on the back lotta neg rates just means your a SL old timer like me who had a hell of a lot fun getting neg and positive rates Oh and as long as I am paying RL$ for my land you bet your butt I will defend it from prying eyes, and baddies who have nothing better to do than to take the magic away from my experiences Hugz you Cat

It's really sad to see the backlash of negs. Your valid neg rating brough on SIX " I'm mad you neg rated me and so is my friend" negs. Thats uncalled for. This is why the rating system is flawed and inaccurate.

Why do we need to know initals? Unless the intent was for us to figure it out , clue of alternative lifestyle assisting, and make a judgement upon this person. I agree that a forum is a great place to vent or express your displeasure at finding something you feel is wrong on your land. However, there are TWO sides to every issue and so far in reading this thread I see one persons account of BOTH sides. I didnt read where any attempt was made to contact the person prior to the neg. rating. was there a try taken to speak to this person? To talk with them and if still felt they were in violation then neg rate them . To list their initals and that they are of alternitive lifetstyle I think is unfair without giving them the option to at least defend themselves before you placed it in public record on the forums.
Im only trying to understand. the need to identify the person to public. unless intent of judgement?
I dont know if what your saying in this thread is true or not true. my post is here only in that i think even to disclose initals of this person without them having option of defending themselves against your interpretations of events. is in just my opinion very unfair.
if you had left that out of it and simply told this tale. my post would not exisit here. thank you for your time and reading this girls opinion. good day.

From: Rosa Gardner However, there are TWO sides to every issue and so far in reading this thread I see one persons account of BOTH sides. I didnt read where any attempt was made to contact the person prior to the neg. rating. was there a try taken to speak to this person? To talk with them and if still felt they were in violation then neg rate them . Rosa The fallacy I'm seeing is the opinion that I neeed to speak to this person before negging. NO I do not. I do not deal well with confrontational issues and I would rather NOT attempt to speak with someone who in the past broke an important promise to me and then committed grudge acts against me. This person has had his boy friend neg me in the past and what happened this time is no different. The object in question was invisible and over land which he didnt own, he is wrong for that. This person not only had his friend neg me, but they also negged Hobbes, who discovered the object. The same way you ask me "did i speak with them", you can pose to your very good friend. They could have said "we removed the scanner", and I would have removed the negs. Instead he chose to triple neg rate me and had his friend follow suit. So yes Rosa, there are 2 sides to every story and 2 ways to act in every situation, so thank you for pointing out the obvious but kindly apply it to your dear friend as well. 2 people were hit with 9 negs which but not for the scanner being over land they didnt own this entire incident would not have occured. So who has the first wrong? Briana Dawson

Actually the little **** neg rated me as well. Said it was group land so he's not at fault even tho he owned the box.
Here is the kicker.
The fuzzing thing over hung 4 god damn sims at a corner. Not only did it over hang Briana's land, it hung into 3 other sims.
And ya know what the LL? That's right, not a fu**ing thing. Yeah for screwing the little guys.
---later edit add---
On the plus side it was worth the neg. The guy deleted it. Then again, maybe he was just covering his ass.

Land Scanner trolls Blah

Bri, hugzzz u girl havent seen you in such along time. Come visit me miss seeing old friends.
When Phan Isle was in Magenta we always found listening devices all the time from people that owned the competition clubs which will remain nameless, however much it pissed me off but I had to ask myself why they care what we do? Then I figured out that they were also causing lag there on purpose, hrm wonder what they were affraid of?
Negetive ratings only get you neged back, not only by who you rate but friends and alts of theirs. So thats not the answer I always brought a linden there when found , they would report it, because it is agaisnt TOS, I don't believe no action was taken, because there is no way of knowing that. But it did detour them from it again. Then came others OIEVAY!!!
You just have to make a scan of your land regularly and bring a Linden for help and record what they find. The listening devices that we used to find were like invisable lil objects hidden, we had to do a script scan daily in Magenta.
Much Love to you BRi!!!!! Hugzzz xoxox Fel

I actually think that the issue is a pretty simple one.
The device placed on Brainna's land was not there to benefit anyone other then the object's owner. Briana did not get any form of benefit out of having a static, immobile, prim-count lowering landscanner on her land.
Add to that the fact that land scanners are controversial in nature anyway, and you have a pretty good case of "get this thing the hell out of my land".

It scans for illegal minors in game. Odd, it goes off every time you pass through the sim.
