To be fair, if we are going to criticise SL, we should also criticise its closest competitor, First Life.
1. The UI sucks. To manipulate the simplest object is pretty hard, and you have to be practically right next to it. No Camera Controls. IM is extremely limited.
2. Almost every object in-world can cause serious damage to your avatar if mishandled.
3. Completely unbalanced combat system.
4. Very limited control over your Av, and its initial stats are random.
5. Chock full of griefers. They totally run the social system.
6. The economy SUCKS. See point 5.
7. Frequent, long downtime for recycling rendering buffers. Called "sleep".
8. Practically no customer support at ALL.
9. The terms of service are EXTREMELY vague.
The few good things about it are:
1. Practically no lag, unless you drink a lot of "alcohol"
2. Total Sensory Immersion
3. Fantastic rendering.
4. The sunsets are great.
So all in all, I think LL is doing a great job. I mean, imagine if you could call up God and chew him out... umm... file a bug/abuse report, and get an apology.

RL has NO teleporting feature. I could REALLY use this! *giggles* RL there are NO sliders to change your appearance (yeah, you can work at it, but really the sliders are SO much easier) RL if I walked around with a box on my head I'd probably be committed. SL EVERYONE understands your *pain* RL if I talk about SL I get STRANGE looks I can always talk about SL in SL RL I could NEVER own & island. RL it's not that easy to visit with family & friends that live all the way on the other side of the world. I am sure there's more but that's it for now |

FOOD!. Why the hell do I buy food in SL? I just thought of that. Some things can't be helped bringing them into SL from RL, but why do it if you can't take advantage of 3 of the best things about it from RL: smell, taste, and sustenance.
