It feels like home to me 5) A few pieces, but not a lot 5a) Occaisionally.. its more for looks, and so the house doesnt feel empty. 6) All three! Although, less of a socializer than a builder and scripter 7) For me personally, its part of the fun.. I enjoy building Nope! I spent a lot of my initial time with SL gathering Calling Cards, so my bonus helps a LOT with taxes

From: someone Originally posted by Gwydeon Nomad 1) Do you own a house in SL?Yup. Two structures and an apartment, spread out across the world. (I call them structures because they aren't really houses, per se.) A shack in Gray, just look for the hang glider tethered to the roof, and a platform in Chartreuse. Finally, I have an apartment in the Roseridge Apts. 2) Is it prefab (or prefab based), self constructed, or contracted? Both the shack and the platform are self-constructed. 3) What do you do there?Admire it. Seriously, I use either location as a homebase for scripting or building. 4) Do you spend more time: At your home, At other people's homes, at events, at sites such as Nexus Prime, Americana?Right now? None of the above. This is why I haven't been inworld -- too much RL eating my brain. >_< But when it isn't, I'm usually a vagrant who visits all of the above. 5) Do you have furnature in your home? 5a) Do you use it?Yup. Sometimes I do -- I usually perch on the bench in front of my Zen garden for scripting work. 6) Do you consider yourself: A Builder, A Scripter or a Socializer?Yes. 7) If you answered in the positive to #1 why / what made you decide to build a home?First, because I bought some land in Gray and needed something to put there. Then later, because I liked being able to create things. Are you strugling tax wise becuase of owning a home? No. My stipend covers my taxes.

1. Yes i do. 2. I built it myself. 3. I socialize with friends. 4. I mix all that stuff up, and spend about the same amount of time on all. 5. Yes, i use it too. 6. I consider myself a builder and a socializer...definately! 7. I wanted to build a home to test my building skills and to have a reason to use some textures i own. 8. Nah 9. I suggest anyone who hasn't built a home to do so, because i discovered my skills in building that i never knew i had when i built my house.

1) Do you own a house in SL? ~Yes I do, even though it is placed on a itty bitty island in Taber due to lack of suitable land. 2) Is it prefab (or prefab based), self constructed, or contracted? ~ It is self-constructed and it was a big project for me since I love to build. 3) What do you do there? ~ I am constantly making new objects or avatars. 4) Do you spend more time: At your home, At other people's homes, at events, at sites such as Nexus Prime, Americana? ~ I spend most of my time at home, though I do go out sometimes to visit friends. 5) Do you have furnature in your home? 5a) Do you use it? ~ I recently made furniture...didn't have any before since I considered it more of a decoration item than anything else. Now I have some furniture as decoration. 6) Do you consider yourself: A Builder, A Scripter or a Socializer? ~ Builder's life for me! 7) If you answered in the positive to #1 why / what made you decide to build a home? ~ Wanted a place to call my own and also needed a place to set up shop. Are you strugling tax wise becuase of owning a home? ~ Taxes haven't been much of a problem since my land is really small, but finding suitable land has. 9) Place any other comments you have here. ~ Great poll. I love to know what other players opinions are!

1) Do you own a house in SL? No not exactly. I own a garden in Slate and in Darkwood I partially own a cave/amazon camp Yuki and I are working on together. I have had houses before, but I usually tore them down and replaced them with a garden. I guess I think making the landscape more interesting is more intriquing than building a house. I can live outdoors just fine. It's not like SL has winter or anything . Oh and I have a shop in Darkwood that sells hair textures, clothes, that kind of thing. 2) Is it prefab (or prefab based), self constructed, or contracted? Self-constructed 3) What do you do there? Build more stuff. 4) Do you spend more time: At your home, At other people's homes, at events, at sites such as Nexus Prime, Americana? I'd say 60 percent is spent at my own place and 40 is spent elsewhere. 5) 5) Do you have furnature in your home? 5a) Do you use it? I have some sleeping spots for the Amazon's in the cave and some benches outside in the "kitchen" area. I use the benches when I'm chatting a lot. But I rarely use any other kinds of furinutre. I have it, it's for looks. 6) Do you consider yourself: A Builder, A Scripter or a Socializer? I'd say I'm mostly a socializer and a slowly learning builder. I'm also a newbie-texture maker -- so does artist fit any of those categories? . 7) 7) If you answered in the positive to #1 why / what made you decide to build a home? I build gardens mostly because I enjoy them. Are you strugling tax wise becuase of owning a home? Nope! Not yet! 9)

1) Do you own a house in SL? Yes, I have two. One is a house in a giant tree and the other is a lighthouse. 2) Is it prefab (or prefab based), self constructed, or contracted? Both are self-constructed. 3) What do you do there? I build things, make clothing, play around with scripts, talk with people who stop in. At the lighthouse, I also have clothing for sale. 4) Do you spend more time: At your home, At other people's homes, at events, at sites such as Nexus Prime, Americana? I spend most of my time either at my home or someone else's--roughly the same amount at each. I have had days where I've gone to two or three events in a row, but I've also gone weeks without attending any. 5) Do you have furnature in your home? Yes. Chairs, benches, shelves for the clothes. Also, pictures and other decorative items. 5a) Do you use it? Yes. Not all the time, but fairly often. 6) Do you consider yourself: A Builder, A Scripter or a Socializer? Primarily a builder, but I do a little of all of them. 7) If you answered in the positive to #1 why / what made you decide to build a home? It was really more of an assumption than a deliberate decision. Basically, I felt my avatar looks like a person and people live in houses, so my avatar should have a house. Are you strugling tax wise becuase of owning a home? With two homes, I am. If I just had one, I don't think I would have any problem. 9) Place any other comments you have here.

1) Do you own a house in SL? Yes, in Stanford (61,121) 2) Is it prefab (or prefab based), self constructed, or contracted? I had someone build it for me. 3) What do you do there? I hang out with friends, work on clothing, practice building. 4) Do you spend more time: At your home, At other people's homes, at events, at sites such as Nexus Prime, Americana? I go to events ocassionally but I'm always in Stanford, either at our shop, my house behind the shop) or at Frankie Beach's house (down the beach from the shop). I don't stray far. 5) Do you have furnature in your home? Yes 5a) Do you use it? Yes, ocassionally. 6) Do you consider yourself: A Builder, A Scripter or a Socializer? I'm a buyer/seller/socializer 7) If you answered in the positive to #1 why / what made you decide to build a home? I wanted to build a home so I could have somewhere to relax and hang out with my friends without having to work. Also, sometimes the shop gets very hectic and I want to hide away. Plus I had the image of how it would be in my head and wanted people to see it too. Are you strugling tax wise becuase of owning a home? Not really anymore. There was a time when I did put it away but it was partially for taxes/shop expansion. 9) Place any other comments you have here.
