I had a good week in SL. I fine tuned the landscape around my house. I took pictures and photoshopped them to look like paintings and hung them in my gallery. I bought a couple of new houses from Daminia (hope I spelled that right) and put them up in the air above my land just to look at them. I held a Wicca meeting that was somewhat successful but good because I met a new friend. I worked on making a book of my paintings using Toneless Tomba's new THINC Book, which is a remarkable bit of engineering. I had someone ask me about my build, which is one of Richard Stern's Free Buildings. I put some out for them to see and shared the extras I had the good fortune of buying before the Maxim District disappeared.
All in all I had so much fun that I thought I would burst. Several times I found myself laughing with delight at some comment by a another SL'er or burning with energy over the possibilities.
So how was your week?

Fun I've been a little frustrated making a new build, but eventually something will coalesce...or not...its all good. I've sold a few things, which is always neat-o. I modded a build for someone looking for something a little special, and got to see some of the new rental island sims in the process - boy, they're pretty! Too bad I have a land purchase fetish a mile wide. I got to give away some crazy nonsense I make to Brace Coral's noob shop. I got to hand out Brace's Welcome to SL folder to a few new people. I talked MAAAAAAD shit with Gene Poole at the MST3K event at the Elbow Room over the weekend. He is light and refreshing, like Fresca. *thumbs up*

My brother and I set up his new home and land, that was a blast. I love building and decorating - now I want to take it all down and start over lol. Met some new people who are just really awesome. Wandered around a lot just checking things out and exploring. Yes, good week.

This week has been a productive one for me. I've got five new dressed waiting to be packaged and put on the vendor, a new sofa, chair, and desk that I can't decide what to do with... and the coming week brings the close of the revitalized issue/premiere of D!Vogue Style magazine. Very fun and productive week, indeed.

I had a pretty good week. I got to log in more often than I have been which has been such a relief.
I started participating in another build in Gibson (always changing and morphing it seems), have been making headway with my show Hangin On, and have been meeting a lot of new people that are excited about the show.
Oh, and I also caught up on some blogs and am excited to be joining the SL Future Salon this week.
I've got three cheers for SL waiting here.

Had fun making a game which allows you to "beach comb" with a metal detector unit I designed. Script by Pete Fats. It's based on odds similar to Slots, and has a progressive jackpot.

I've been working on a nifty little script (with help) that will let folks drop a notecard in an object - which will send me an email at work - then I can reply, and my message will appear in hovertext over the object. Probably a cake script for some of the accomplished scripters out there, but for me, its a fun challenge Other than that - its been a refreshing week posting hardly any events. I've been relaxing & reflecting on all the good friends I've made - and how rich my Second Life is because of it

It was just *wonderful* April, thanks for asking!
Well, Elle is more than half way through building all the houses on the cliff in Sutherland which I commisisoned -- you know how beautiful that area is! She's done a great job of meeting that challenge there on the cliff -- so hard! I had a tenant for the top of the cliff too, Barnesworth contributed a really nice Frank Lloyd Wright house for that awesome view. I decided that we'd do ok on the prims, so I sold one of the lots down in the basin, and fortunately, it was an existing neighbour who bought the water too. So now we are free of fear that some odd patch of water will get taken up by a non-resident on the mainland and used for some non-architectural purpose. Sutherland is looking really gorgeous!
Over in Wakeley, I moved in two new tenants, one has already built a really nice Asian-themed house and donated some tier, after I bought some of her first land in another sim. Then yet another tenant was found -- you know that really difficult spot next to that box club? Who would ever rent there, you'd think? Well, got SO lucky -- like you said it was a GREAT week because I found another tenant -- and guess what, THEY had a box -- TOO funny, huh? So I was thinking, I should introduce, you know? But the tenant's box is WAY up in the air and she's even thinking of building an Asian-theme elevator so it's all good. Then a third person is working on her first house -- it's looking pretty good.
Over in Portage, we finally got the houses set up -- once you get out there over that tricky sim seam, and set yourself to home, well, it's a breeze. A neighbour of mine made some of her first houses -- and they are really wonderful. Put one up, and immediately moved someone in who had been in my system and donated tier -- then left for another zoned system -- then came back -- well we might see some of that ebb and flow. Portage is wonderful -- great neighbours with great chill spaces, really enjoyable times we had there.
Then over to the New Continent, I won that place called Zephyr on the auction to my surprise, I want to make sure to keep it very nice, it's my favorite place in SL. Looking for ideas now, people have been contributing. Went over to Arcata to sell a bit of land I wasn't using, sold in a flash and the people turned out to be fantastic builders and I discovered the whole new world of their builds in harmony with nature on Alviso and Arcata. So much goes on in SL you don't know the half of til you go exploring which I try to do a bit every day, sometimes by just hitting a random square.
In Ravenglass, Foolish Frost is planning a May Day ceremony -- he has whipped up an amazing set of content and ideas and plans with his wife Botany Black who just joined the game -- they are a treasure. I am proud to sponsor their efforts. Then over in Furness, I cleaned up the houses there not renting and started a pay-per-prim idea -- hope it will work it's a beautiful field there. Some newbs renting on the waterfront. Lots of time spent on getting people's videos set up everywhere -- starting to figure out what works and doesn't work.
Had about 10 move-ins in a row -- newbies coming in from all over. Some from TSO -- I heard they borked up the dipkiss interaction when they put in hide-n-go-seek? Well, could it get worse lol? Lots of hours spent on "what is a prim" kinda stuff but these are all hours well spent because people start to learn the game and settle in and make their contributions.
Checked out some stores commissioned in Ross that was being prototyped -- going to move it over to another telehub, the architect Bill Stirling has already designed me one very elegant mall in Burns where a tenant has moved in, and he's working on some more buildings in Ross. Some more newbs took spots in the malls in Refugio and Ross. Hard to fill up malls because you have to work really hard at it but it's fun getting people started. A woman made a lovely store with thoughtful little items -- bought a Chinese teapot. Then over to Maryport to move in another woman who is starting a cake store -- they are really cute! Be sure to get one for your friend's birthdays. Talked to some more architects about plans for Maryport -- more coming on that soon. Love that area. I have a predilection for Linden railroad bridges.
Well just the usual round of chores, cleaning prims, calling up people and telling them to come renew their boxes, setting their boxes, etc. but I enjoy doing that because you find out how people are doing in the game, what they're thinking, etc. Some took quite a hit with the patch and then the re-patch but they're settilng in.
Bob Bunderfeld tp'd me over to Slate, Khamon has done an amazing job of reterraforming that whole sim, you'd never recognize it. They show a wonderful capacity for keeping together, remaining flexible and willing to finish out one kind of project, start a new, change the buildings. Bob had just finished a series of store models which he displayed and offered to me -- it's a kindness. I will use them in Brownlee I guess to offer some very cheap vendors to help people into the market. I had some bigger longterm plans for Brownlee but there is just *so much to do* in SL you literally fall asleep at your keyboard trying to do and see all the amazing things there are in SL. What I suppose is most impressive to me is the way people find something to make them "stick" to a sim and then they work that sim and work it, and create some very beautiful things. Or they make a store or a house in commissions or prefabs and place it in various places in SL, where each new setting ads to the architectural commentary in the game.
Well, gtg I have another move-in.

My big excitement this week has been Meins Residential Community moved last night and is now called . . . what is it called? Some nice exotic name.
Unfortunately, a few of my things things were lost in the move, including my front porch - which means another few hours trying to build it again. But it is exciting to be in a whole new place! And, like the other one, it is very nice, too.
My other big thing was I have put my things I've made in three stores, two of them free places. Now if anybody will ever just come to those places! Anyway, it's a start. So far, I haven't seen a soul in any of them, but I did make two purchases of my own - the talking sheepie backpack and the talking seagull, so someone made a profit, lol. And the seagull does look wonderful perched in his new sandy seaside home! Anyway, the stores are a start.

I was on a bit of a hiatis the last month and a half. Was inbetween houses and just started to get settled in my new home on 4/1.
Since then, I have been having a hard time getting creative. I would open SL and just stare at it for a few minutes, the sign off. Then suddenly, last night, something hit me. I was overwhelmed with a sudden burst of creativity.
In the spirit of fighting all the negative vibes on this forum lately, I have a proposition. Anyone who post something positive to this thread, and then instant messages me in world, will get a free gift courtesy of Mr. P's.
Offer ends at 12:01 AM EST tomorrow (4/27). If I deem your post sarcasim, no gift for you.

I hung out with some friends. Played some games. Laughed a lot. Went on another retexturing binge. Made some clothes. Bought some things. And hardly crashed or lagged at all. It has been a good week.

04-26-2005 15:28
i've been having a wonderful week also! i built a nice little park/sitting area out behind the apartments in aqua. this is for shoppers to sit and relax,i'm thinking of calling it 'tranquil corner". randy and i also made a 'ride' there for free, takes you straight up 4,000 meters and then drops you. (i'll try to get a parachute vendo there if i can) we are also working on a lake in blue, its fairly large, we are making a boat house there also, it will be called "lake charlotte". our friends snow wolf and stunning have both moved to new places and are working on wonderful new homes!!! i visited with them both last night. that was fun. stunning wears pants with the butt cut out, yummy. coco and lilly both visited at me at the commune today. i don't get much company, so that was different and interesting. being the recluse i am, this was a LOT of activity for me!!! bette aka reddish tigereye

I haven't been logged in a whole lot in the last 7 days, but I'd say they were fairly productive. I am now fully equipped to lounge around in a lab-coat, which is awesome. Also, I've continued patrolling the Grid's higher altitudes, as is my custom. Some of you guys are real anti-gravity litterbugs

Pretty cool - I managed to get 'Frankenputer' up and running and was able to log in. Texturing and building is still a prob - so I'm not gonna be that productive for a little while.
Caught up with a bunch of old friends and had some laughs.
Rescripted 'Splody Cow' -- it now blows up from a plunger rather than being dropped from my flying saucer. No matter how many cows go 'boom' it never gets old.
Peed on Flippers leg.
After many months of indecision and umming and ahhhing I moved out of Taber - I look forward to see what is done on my old plot - the only thing constant is SL is change - and its a wonderful thing.
Got some bugs outta my mower buggy, and poser-ed up a new 'white boy' dance : the sprinker.
All in all - a pretty good first week back.
Siggy.

Typical average week. Log in, look at events calendar ... crap... try to explore, curse the lag and my low bandwith dsl ... return home, build something mediocre, log out.

So how was your week?
Kind of lonely actually. I think I'm having a hard time adapting to this new world. It's a weird feeling to really really want to play...and then log in and not know what to do. To not know anyone, to not really enjoy the club scene where it's easier to meet people. For once it's me & not the limits of a game keeping me bored. It's disorienting to flounder but still wonderful to be here. If that makes even a little bit of sense. Sometimes I wish there was a casual group along the lines of..."Hey! I'm bored and wouldn't mind having other green dots around me." or "I'm tired of building, anyone want to skydive?" Not set events, just spur of the moment informal fun/socialness to be initiated by anyone. I've thought about creating one, but the not knowing anyone combined with my natural hermit tendencies makes it seem rather pointless. If anyone else does though, drop me an invite please. And despite the whiny words, they are said in an upbeat tone with a smile and I very glad that you had a good week. -Sun

I had a good week overall. Jarod has his land back. The Athenians are settling their new island in Oceana. Slate is terraformed and empty to begin a new project and that's always fun. Fate Gardens finally has a touchable willow tree available. Oh and I've become the curator of Siggy's palace in Taber.
Of course that means redesigning the gardens altogether. But that's always fun too.

Khamon, is Jarod your alt? I only ask this because you refer to him so often. Not out of any desire to out you or anything.

Supreme Dalek is my alt. Jarod is a friend that showed me SL back when we were deeply entrenched in Asheron's Call. He's also a coworker; so we talk a lot and back each other up when one or the other is overwhelmed with programming or maintenance. So yeah, he's kind of an alt in real life, but not in second.
