Is there such a thing?
If there was, how much would you pay for it?
I think I might pay $100 USD to *LindenLabs* for 16 m2.

Is there such a thing? If there was, how much would you pay for it? I think I might pay $100 USD for 16 m2. I just bought 16,800m2 of land for L$69,000 just the other day.. That'll run me about $75/mo ($900/yr) |

Let me clarify in case it wasn't obvious, I'd pay linden labs $100 for 16 m2 of tier free land and the land should be fully resellable.

you really thing 16m of land would be worth 100 just because it's not going to dock your tier?

No, I think it would be worth a lot more than that. That's why I'm willing to pay $100 USD

Eh? It's not an idea.
It's a very serious offer. _____________________

Uh...I'm confused. But I think I have to say I'll do it.
Give me $100 and I'll write you a bill of sale. I'll hold it against my own tier, instead of yours. You'll have complete access and rights. Then, when you want to resell it, I'll handle the transfer to the new party. Am I missing something? _____________________

blaze, people confuse the fact that they are paying $9.95 a month for 2000L and a base 512sm tier because it's billed as being "free."
there was joyful rioting in the sims when land taxes were dropped. "we won! we convinced them! virtual protestors arise!" some of those people still don't accept that ll simply shifted those taxes from being paid in L to being paid in $. the only people getting freebies now are the lifers, who've more than used what they paid for up front, and the people who work hard enough inworld, and out, to cash enough lindens to cover their fees. _____________________

Heh heh.. Yeah, I guess I should fill in the details for those who are new
Basically, the idea would be that I wouldn't have to pay $9.99 per month or anything ever. In a way it's an investment in the company. Some players paid $200 for 4096 m2, so they're pretty lucky. I'm willing to pay $100 for basically a 300th of what they have, except that I'd be able to resell. It would be nice if the land didn't have to be in a particular SIM, though I might be a bit nervous about that if the SIM for whatever reason got closed down. LL would have to promise to always relocate my property if I wasn't around to do it (Got hit by a bus or something). I'd pay more for more but I'm not sure I could afford to invest that much (LL isn't exactly blue chip..) _____________________

Again, I'll pay LindenLabs that money. I don't think Prokofy has benchmark backing.. _____________________

Isn't it like... 5 bucks USD a month for 512 meters of land, I seem to recall that somewhere.

benchmark backing.. I don't know what this means. I have a year-long subscription. What, you want me to pay YOU to live on land I bought and turned over to you??? Well, the offer is still good. _____________________

I get the never having to pay for it again part. but it's still 16 meters. what use is 16 meters paying regularly or not? how would you recoup your 100$ _____________________

Well, prokofy if you put up a bond that you'll pay my tier for the next 100 years, I'll do it.
It's probably about $10*12*100, so $12,000 USD? We can use Lloyds of London for escrow (you'll have to pay the escrow fees, which will probably be more than the interest). _____________________

The problem is there aren't enough tier levels. It is too much of a jump between levels.

blaze, let's just do a micro version of this for 100 days, in LL, and see how it goes, and don't use Lloyds, use SLExchange...

No, the idea is that this land will still be around no matter what happens.
What if you get hit by a bus? Who's going to pay my land tier? _____________________
