Weird, I get immediate response times. It's almost like the forums are optimised so I can read and post rapidly.

It is not lag. The Lindens have slowed down the forum performance rate to discourage posting so they can keep up.

It's gotten worse in the past day -- right after the power outage, I was getting forum response times of 6-8 seconds, up from less than a second. Now, it's up to 15-20 seconds.

These poor forums have been through a lot... they are getting old and they have a lot of baggage...

We'll have to be careful about how we treat them though... if we try to let them go by denying upgrades we might trigger a congressional investigation.

it seems that we can either log in and stream inventory or use the forums at any given time but not both.

the auction pages are even slower than the forum pages. in fact, they're hardly loading at all.

Well..the forums have been sooo much slower for me for the past week. FIX IT!

How am I supposed to be ignoring work and reading the forums in stealth mode if it takes so long to refresh or load a page!?!

I thought I saw something flying to each post but it was invisible and small but definately self replicating....who's up for a pitchfork and torch party

Thanks for the heads-up, we are aware of the slow-down and are currently working on an upgrade to our forum servers which will hopefully make them much speedier. As soon as we have more information, I'll be sure to post an Announcement. Sorry for the slowness.

Jeska, this started after the colo's unexpected powerdown.

You may want to go over all the forum server hardware first, probably an odd part got fried somewhere...

The forums are back up running at full speed now. There was a glitch that showed up after the power outage and subsequent reboot, and we've isolated and fixed the problem. Thanks for your patience!
