Since they themselves have used their "Open acceptance" of their daughter as a political point for their side, they have no right to be insulted at Kerry being open minded about homosexuality.

That's pretty humorous coming form someone towing the republican party line, which in this case is completely contrary to rationalism. Cheney will support an amendment denying his own daughter equal rights, but Kerry's the bad guy for daring to point it out. Riiiiigggggghhht. _____________________

I find it ironic that the very people who were offended by Kerry's comments were the same ones who ate up the Starr report, and learned all about Clinton's bent penis. Where were the cries of invasion of privacy back then? Clinton had a bent penis? Man I learn something every day reading this forum.  Oh and I find it curious that Cheney mentioned his own daughter in the debate with John Edwards, whereby Edwards acknowledged it and nobody flew off the handle then. Looks to me like Mr. Rove is running out of spin? Could it be possible? _____________________

OK. So this is the way it works. I agree that the moment Dick brought up his daughter and her sexuality into the campaign, she was game
But, it seems to me that it as it is usually the case, some folks seem ot think it is OK to say to someone "your brother is stupid", but it is not OK for someone to say "your brother is stupid" to them. Point in case... Do you agree that both the Bush and Kerry girls have been brought up to stage to show their charm, good looks and flaunt their sexuality, to the advantage of their daddy's respective campaigns? Do you agree that makes them game for commentary and lampooning? That although you will rant and rave on something (taken out of context mind you) you will be incredibly quiet when it comes to things made on your own side of the fence... also explain to me why Kerry should have thought Cheney would be slighted by something he graciously thanked Edwards for mentioning...or for that matter Cheney has himself revealed in his campaign stump speeches (when convenient).

Ok... time for all of you libs out there to stand up for one of your own. Kerry singling out Cheney's daughter for being a lesbian was for political purposes only and downright pathetic. It is an example of dirty politics at it's worst. Let's all rally against the man for his lower than low tactic. Um… wasn’t Kerry asked what HE thought… not what Dick Cheney’s daughter thought? Exactly why is that I have to ask? I thought that Edwards and Kerry supported homosexuals? Their true colors come out. Cheney's daughter is openly gay and has been mentioned MANY times throughout the debates by BOTH parties in SUPPORTIVE and POSITIVE ways. It was only an issue more recently when Kerry started gaining ground. Edwards mentioned her and received thanks from Cheney personally , Ditto for Kerry on 2-3 counts previous to the most recent debacle. I really don't concern myself with who votes for what candiate, my major issues politically have to do w. people not educating theselves with the truth and only looking at their own parties skewed views. Theres always 3 sides to every story and I fear most people in this election have and will only look at one, and its not going to be the truth. _____________________
