Great thread....

All I ant for X-Mas from LL is to get the roads all fixed so we can drive on them as well as flying or at least walking...... I was/am an avid racer and its a shame that one of the best potentials of SL is total crap, and this is comming from someone who used to play old atari games way back when..........

There are so many great roads....... Fix the driving aspect of the games LL so we may all enjoy the great open road, that's my X-Mas wish..... Please Santa, pleaseeee make it happen..........

Perhaps a gift of 1.5K for all SL residents would bolster the economy a little.

I'm with David on his wish list, except for the happiness and goodwill crap.

I also want a seperation of Resell/Give Away, Life Accounts offered on our 1 year anniversaries, and embarassing pictures from all the Linden office Christmas parties. (Don't even try and tell me Kona won't be Xeroxing his ass.)

This would also be sweet... except for the pics, I'm not interested...unless there's one of Philip under a mistletoe (he's a cutie). ;)

What do I want for Xmas?

----------------8<--------------- LSL WIKI SNIP ------------------8<-----------------------

llPointAt(vector pos)

This function is still broken.

Makes the object owner's Avatar point towards pos. Use llStopPointAt to stop pointing.

--------------8<---------------------------------------------------8<----------------------------

That :)

Siggy.

There will only be peace, when there is a Mule in every inventory and a 40 acre plot with each resident's (at 1.2 time) name on it! UNTILL THEN!

The ability to move, offset and repeat textures on clothes made with the sliders, like we can on prims. Please?!

A simple to understand tutorial on how to make clothes with the templates using GIMP.

The ability to wear more than one set of tattoos, etc. at once without having to combine them myself.

Maybe the ability to wear several layers of clothes at once-- layered shirts plus undershirt, etc. -- without having to attempt to make them myself.

Less drama in the forums, peace and contentment over all of SL.

A couple of my wayward SL friends to come back safe and sound.

Oh yeah, and I'd kinda like to see the photos from the Linden Christmas party, too. :D

An extra texture layer for skin so I don't have to spend 80% of my time adding tatts to skins for people!!! :D

Private island owners will also be able to get the newer sims because they somehow get preferential treatment, more features then mere mainlanders.
Would it not be fair to say thar "somehow," (to use your characterization,) the almost one thousand bucks that the island sim users pay initially, plus the almost 200 bucks paid per month, bears some relationship to purchasing and providing the server for island sim owners? Seems more like receiving what you pay for which is pretty much the way the world works.

I think mainlanders are probably paying the same thing if not more than the private sim owners if you look at it as a whole sim and a lot of people are probably paying for more land than they are using. So I don't see where receiving what you pay for applies, actually people in the older and the slower sims are paying the same thing for poorer service.

I paid $1205 for Indigo, and the same tier costs per month. I'm going to most likely be relegated to an older server (not as bad as my friends in Lusk, but bad). The people who have been here the longest on the oldest land - even if they own a full sim that that most likely payed over $980 total for - are kinda getting screwed here. I like Cory's idea better. :-)

Anyway, SL X-Mas:

Havok 2
Better inventory system including search, multiple select, etc. Import/Export would rock too.
Texture thumbnail system
Native default animation support
Server reliability increase
A way to backup the current state of a land parcel to your local hard drive & restore if necessary

Take care!

I'd like some neat Chistmas based outfits like red dresses with white fur trim and pictures of Santa and Snowmen on them.

I'd like to see some pictures of the Linden avatars building snowmen and snow forts and having snowball battles.

What do you want for CHRISTMAS -- not SL!
12-11-2004 10:16
C'mon people, what do you want for CHRISTMAS, not what do you want in SL! Examples:

Havok2 (bad)
Shiny pickle (good)

I want decent hair that isn't 155 prims (I swear officer! I didn't know my hair was a lag bomb until AFTER I bought it!)

Tough Choice...

What would I want for Christmas?

Hmmmm...

Well, aside from some of the stuff mentioned by others...

What I'd want for Christmas would be the chance, the opportunity, to build a work of art for LL somewhere. And I mean something big too. Of course, for something like that I'd probably need help, seeing as I don't do well with scripts and my texturing abilities are a bit limited...

But I suppose some recognition would be good. Come to think of it tho, I'm already recognized by some, though mostly in some fairly small circles. *snicker*

I do have some ideas of what I can give some OTHER folks for Christmas tho. ;-)
