You can get them to appear randomly by using the edit window (create tab) - I'd set up a box of the plants for you but don't have the time :(

Wow - i didn't see them......

Thanks for the heads-up - I've been needing some decent ground cover, and my old Linden grass kept glowing in the dark so I deleted it in annoyance !

Gardening tonight :)

Well, this is Linden grass again, I think the reason it glows in the dark is because it doesn't update the lighting effects on itself easily, so if you logged on near grass at night, and day came in SL, it would be dark.

You can also try Jimmy Thompson's dense ground cover effect (it uses particals) it's by far the most impressive user created foliage effect.

Ah, thanks for the explanation Damien, that effect had been bothering me, I'll still give the new stuff a whirl though.

I do have Jimmy's system running on a flattened part of my land, but for most of my landscape I can't use it easily as I like things to be naturally rugged, rough and hilly !

New Plants in Second Life
12-16-2004 08:50
As you have seen, there are five new plants in Second Life. They are:

Sea Sword (aquatic)
Eelgrass (aquatic)
Kelp (aquatic)
Beach Grass
Undergrowth

Each of these plants is available in the Tree Creation Tool - with the exception of 'Undergrowth,' which is available in the Grass Creation Tool.

Please disregard the "Missing Image" grass you may have seen. The error has been fixed, and you will not see it in v1.5.9.

Thanks for all your kind comments on our newly released foliage, and enjoy them all!

Cool Beanz, Eric! Ty! More please!

Mainly because with a vast array of your Linden vegetation I'd save myself around 2000 prims :)

Oh.. and... can we have the stuff mentioned here please? kthxbye :)

Well, I can see I'm going to be standing around rezzing and deleting trees and plants for a while--

When I get the new ones I'll make em free to copy at Blair Pier, but I may not be able to get on line until tomorrow.

Would you please add these new items to the common Library folder we all share in our inventory when convenient?

Inventory/Library/Objects/Trees, Plants and Grasses

Thanks!

I had a feeling that you'd say something like this, Lash. Would go well with your stylish submerged dwelling. LOL. :)
