Mm. Used to have a pet or two. I found that I prefer being single though. Those women were a bit too high maintenence, boring, or psychotic.

What kind of pet do you have and what do you like or recommend about them? We have a teacup Yorkshire Terrier and we use to have a Siberian Husky, but got stolen. I recommend a husky, they are sweet loving dogs._____________________

I've got a great dane - the 'gentle giant' of the dog-world. Intelligent, sweet and just plain adorable; although he does think he's a lap dog. 160lbs of lap dog, to be exact. Urgh.

I've got a big, bad border collie - the superhero of the canine world. He is convinced that anything that moves MUST be herded, and that he has to protect me from everything - including flies. God help me if there's ever a spider on the wall.
However, he looks completely idiotic in his new sweater. Maybe that's why he keeps peeing on it. |

I have 2 cats, a hermit crab and a beta fish. I used to have 2 cocker spaniels which were wonderful dogs that lived very long lives (18 and 22 years respectively). Now I'm trolling for a beagle, but hubby hasn't caved in yet.
Cats are cool because they keep you humble. You serve them. Dogs are cool because they think you are THE supreme being. They serve you. Hermit Crabs are interesting - Mr. Crabs sits in the kitchen so when ever I'm cooking I can watch him. Sushi - my beta fish is 2 years old and he lives in a bowl that sits on my desk at work and he always calms me down when work days get stormy. I had a raccoon for a pet once and he was really, really smart. Like having a 2 year old all the time. Into everything. Horses are a lot of work (I had one as a kid) - not my pet of choice as an adult. I had an Iguana and he was really cool - used to like to sit on my lap and watch TV. I've had snakes, hamsters and mice. (Though not all in the same container) Hubby has drawn the line at snakes though - none are allowed in the house. ![]() _____________________

I I've had snakes, hamsters and mice. (Though not all in the same container) ![]() heheh As for me I have two cockatiels. Got the second one because I thought the first one was lonely. They hate each other. They're fun pets, if you can put up with the noise, mess and mischeif. One bird thinks it's fun to shove all the newspaper to one side of his cage. The other one got bored one day and picked all the green kibble from his food and put them in his water container. Until recently, I was touched that one of them always flew straight to my desk when I oppened his cage. Figured he associated the desk me and wanted my company. Then I discovered the truth- he'd found and "befriended" a mirror he could see from there. _____________________

I care for two dwarf lop rabbits and five tortoises, and soon we'll be adding a budgy and a kitten to our already crowded household.
![]() The tortoises are currently hibernating so they're very low-maintenance compared to the rabbits. We keep them inside and give them free reign of an annex off of the kitchen, which includes four rooms. One of the rooms leads into the garden, so we take them out a few times a week and they run around wildly and chase pigeons and nibble on the grass and jump over each other. They're great fun, but it's taken quite a long time for them to become accustomed enough to be cuddly with us. If I lie on my stomach they'll hop all over me and rub noses because they're less intimidated when I'm on their level, but standing over them is frightening and they always run away. I recommend them to people who have enough free time to spend socializing with them and don't mind the amount of time it might take for them to get used to you. You also have to carefully monitor their diet and make sure they've got healthy teeth. Rabbit teeth keep growing, and overgrown teeth can be fatal for a rabbit, so they have to have plenty of hay to nibble on. My rabbits are housetrained but they need to be kept away from electrical wires and anything I don't want to end up completely chewed into oblivion. Both my rabbits are male, but they needed to be neutered anyway because they had territorial issues that caused some nasty fighting, and sexual frustration that caused some nasty face-humpage. Otherwise they're a gas. ![]() |

I do not have a pet. I would, however, like a cat. I would most likely name her after Avril Lavigne...

I have the fortune of having two cats...a boy and a girl, both 7 months old.
The boy is dirty (he digs in plants as a sideline job), he smells (he don't like the cleaning much), he is vicious (look at my legs), he is a bit on the dim side (he once was trapped under a blanket), and he poops twice his body weight daily. The girl is sweet, clean, smart as a whip, and is super needy and luvin'. Sad thing is, I love them both way too much...I guess it's like a parent, no matter how they come out, you'll still luv 'em. _____________________

I have a terrier mix that I got from a rescue place. He is a wonderful dog. Loving, clean, sweet. Always goes outside when he is supposed to. Max
I also have two pugs. The pugs are funny, spoiled, lovable. I love my pugs, but it takes a special person to live with them. They demand lots and lots and lots of attention. They sleep in the same bed curled against their human, they shed horribly, and the male will not go outside if it is raining. They are really like having very small children in the house. So instead I reley on the "Pug a Day' wall calendar for my pug fix. _____________________

Pugs are definitely high maintenance, but they have so much personality, to me it is worth it. Half the time when I am in SL one or both are sitting in my lap. If they are not in my lap then all three dogs are at my feet. Angel will get in the chair beside my computer chair and bark at me until I play with her.
And they really think they are the top dog. They will bark at dogs 4 times their size. Size doesn't matter in the dog world._____________________

My kitty josy! and 5 goldfishes! Beautiful kitty! Well, I will repeat myself proudly - I have 3 - count em up - 3 American Eskimo Dogs. Belle is 5, Diva is 2 and Harry is four months old and a wonderful critter - as puppies are. He can do no wrong and we all spoil him. I also have three fabulous cats. Lily - the queen of the house, is about 12. Moose - Lily's eunich - is about 12 also. And Sophie is 14 - she lives in the attic as she is the newest of the bunch (I 'rescued' her from the street last summer) - she is an incredibly beautiful smokey grey persian type - though not a flat faced persian - she has a doll face. Also though I am told by her former owners that she is 14, she seems like a kitten!! Its astonishing. _____________________
