I am pretty easy going and can listen to a whole rang of genres,

Like last night I was streaming on my land, and started off with Disturbed, Korn, Slipknot, ended up with Billy Joel, The Weathergirls and Mc Hammer :D

I'm an ambient / electronica / dub / trip-hop kind of a guy at heart.

Let's see...I like a range of music.... Paul Anka to Bach.... Kiss to classical clavier music... Faith Hill to South Park lyrics.

Oh, and I am one of the few people I know who actually like Muzak... you know, elevator music.

Finally, some of my favorite songs, things I sing myself to sleep by are the wonderfully politically incorrect "Marching Jodies"/cadences we used to sing in the service... you know.. yellow bird, "I know a girl who lives on a hill".... and of course, "C130 rolling down the strip"

Mina,

I'm surprised that classical was not one of the options. Anyway, classical.

In particular:- Messiaen, Nielsen, Honegger, Ives, Schoenberg, Grainger and quite a few others.

You forgot to include 'Folk' :p

I'm boooored at work so I'm gonna write an essay and try and pick some tracks or at least albums, though it's hard to choose.

Tastes keep changing but these include some perennials....

Richard Thompson - Night Comes In, 52 Vincent Black Lightning, Shoot Out the Lights, Beeswing, 'and many more' lol
Nick Drake - Ahhh, just the whole Pink Moon album and most of Five Leaves Left
Green Day - new for me really; the American Idiot album is a marvellous retro pastiche of punk, he heh, good for Angry days !
Tori Amos - Boys for Pele album is a masterpiece; Hey Jupiter, Talula and Muhammed my Friend stand-out tracks
Liz Phair - the last self titled album is a great good-time album - listened to it all the time when I first got into SL
Evanescence - fave tracks: Going Under and My Immortal - whole album is good.
Del Amitri - fave tracks could be 'Here and Now' and 'Driving with the Brakes On' for sentimental reasons
Karnataka - ( OMG they've split up but how fantastic they were/could have been ! ) - fave track 'After the Rain'
Blue Horses - described as 'celtadelic welsh twin fiddle driven folk rock', or something like that
Pink Floyd - Echoes is a beautiful 'spin away' track
Oyster Band - 'Shouting End of Life' album - lively, occasionally angry folk rock
Fairport Convention - Crazy Man Michael, Sir Patrick Spens, Tam Lin.....
Duran Duran - the whole 'Rio' album, just takes me back to the early 80's, even if I was listenin' to heavy metal at the time :D
Enya - 'The Celts' - a BBC soundtrack but my favourite chill-out to this day *sigh*
Mediaeval Baebes - Undrentide
Heidi Berry - 'North Shore Train', 'Up In The Air'

but I'll listen to anything that makes me feel -something- in whatever mood I'm in at the time, though I have a low toleration for dance music :p

Over the course of one day I'll listen to bluegrass, classical, techno, electronic, orchestral fantasy, riot, black metal, grind, and lots of punk. I stream punk in my church in Oberstdorff if anyone wants to listen to a good mix, mostly old school (FEAR, The Freeze...).

post-rock, indie, IDM, math-rock, emo-core, screamo, crust, blah, blah, blah...

Hey Milo ---- some nice stuff up there - Magnetic Fields, Mates of State, and APRIL MARCH!!! The first time I listened to April March, my Ipod glowed with sunshine :D

Great topic... always wanted to meet some SLers that had similar musical taste.

I posted "other" because I can't possibly narrow my musical tastes to sugh categories.

my faves are (in sort of descending order but really not) Metal, Rock, Classic Rock, Punk Rock, Modern Rock, Prog Rock, Numetal, Modern Punk, Ska, Techno/Industrial, Old School Rap, Turntablism, Trance/Ambient and some Hip-Hop.

Basically anything that sounds GOOD I will listen to! :P But I'm biased being a DJ I think!

I am a big Polka fan. I remember camping out all night to get tickets to those awesome Polka concerts back in the '80's. Those were the days.....

I really like off beat indie rock, stuff no one's probably heard of, like Neutral Milk Hotel, the Music Tapes, Cerberus Shoal, Arcade Fire. I also like some more well-known indie, like Guided By Voices, Flaming Lips (they put on an awesome show) and Grandaddy.

You wouldn't know it if you met me in-world, cause there's really no way for me to play any of that or listen to it, till I get a shoutcast server anyway lol.

I also enjoy Industrial and Power Noise a whole bunch.

I also really like good psytrance.

I'm all mixed up. :p
