There is a Naughty sim and I haven't heard of it????

Hmm..I was thinking the same thing. I thought we had all agreed that anything naughty, kinky, pornographic or downright perverted would have to be reviewed by me first, as Minister of Perversion, under the Queen Mother, Aimee Weber.

The Trailer Park on Chaos is a rather amusing place and worthy of this list.

Aimee lol, I think you've got Naughty confused with another sim. I can't get in Second Life at the moment to give the exact name so as soon as I can I'll post it. Naughty is still undergoing work and isn't "officially" open yet, it's an ongoing project of Ambyance2 and Lost. You're thinking of the sim we've been using for pictures with the exotic builds and secluded areas. Boo! I hate that I can't get in SL to get the name of the sim lol.

*Ah hah! thought of it finally, it's Luna-Sea!

Tooting my own horn here, but if you have a group, some time at Tribal Drums can be fun. Its kind of boring alone, but when you get a group laying some beats down, it can be a blast.

No. No, I'm sorry, Ace, but you're wrong.
Playing at Tribal Drims alone is a BLAST. True, it's even more fun with a group, but if you're into beats and drumming in the least, it's a fab place to explore and play even alone.

I seem to run into newbies once or twice a week and I direct them to places I think they'll enjoy - so this thread is good. I send (or take) people to the Spook House, Tiger Crossing's time machine, the science fiction museum, Numbakulla, and Seacliff. Fased Reality is great, too. Lately I've been showing them my photography studio in Grignano. Usually people don't really understand that there are many things to do that don't require money.

Aren't there free boat trials over in the FairChang sim? I enjoyed a great boating phase when I was a newb, and it started off that way.

Skydiving!

Stand around in a mall or shop trying out the dance animations offered for sale.

Get the box of sample makeups from Second Skins and go off someplace to try them on -- even more fun with friends.

Chase's Manhattan . . . that place just blew me away when I was a newb. Besides the original, amazing build, there are lots of cool things to see and do there, including an automated tour where you ride through the city on floating lawn furniture, a veritable maze of teleporters that'll take you all over the city, giant snails climbing the Empire State Building, a Sky Lounge, and a hidden speakeasy done in authentic Art Deco style.

Parrot Island is very pretty, and the info about parrots is great.

The UC Davis Virtual Hallucinations build is really interesting -- as an experience and as an educational resource.

Red Dragon Street Market and Silk Waters Mountain are both a lot of fun to visit if you'd like a quick 10-minute jaunt to China or Japan.

Hike through the Forest of Kahruvel and visit Phineas Jack's lookout.

Neualtenburg is another good place for a stroll.

Gray Field and the Kazenojin tower -- great place to explore.

Grab a free gun and go to Jesse or Rausch to look for trouble.

Hang around the welcome area and watch the avatar artists and exhibitionists.

There is no way anyone could get out of Chicago in ten minutes. This build is so cool that you're there for hours not minutes.

10 minutes is ideal for exploring a cool-looking build. There are plenty of those in SL :)

Hiya,

I'm doing some research into identifying cool 10-min experiences out there in SL. Particularly, things that newbies would find a lot of fun.

Along with my own research into this, I'd like to get some ideas from people here.

Yes, these can be things that other Residents have created, such as little games, activities, and interesting areas/builds to explore. But I am also including things that are just fun experiences in general. Like "try snowboarding in the snow sims" or "check out the coral reefs and fish off the coast."

The only stipulations are...it's gotta be fun for newbies and it's gotta be something you can do in 10 min. :)

Thanks,
-Pathfinder

whacha doing with this info? will it be a notecard? if so, when can we get a copy?

hmmm not sure if you meant for free or not but I think a newbie would get a kick out of buying a fun avi like Wynx Whiplash's Bunnehs and some model poses and dances, that gives a little insight into the flexibilty of avis and you dont have to go anywhere in particular. The throwing carrots part in mouselook can be a little confusing though, but 'tis fun!

oooh the SL Poetry Guild is awesome fun too..

I'm working on compiling this info as part of my work to improve the new Resident experience in SL.

And yes, I'll be sure to share everything I compile with everyone here. I'll also set up a notecard dispenser on my land in the Linden Village with the same info.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. :)

be afraid! be verrrah afraid muhahahahahahah!! yes, Wynx is evil incarnate she want to destroy Christianity* with her evil pagan bunnehs!!!!!

*see some other thread where someone claims Christianity is under attack somehow by liberals, like the Roman Empire succeeded in stopping it, sheesh, 2 threads later I'm still tripping on how retarded that sounded...
