Speaking of crappy music.. Has anyone ever heard R.Kelly - Trapped in the closet? It's on the radio all the time now. I was literally in tears the first time I heard it. I seriously thought it was a joke. :o In the song he sings about waking up in some womans bed, the womans husband comes home and R.Kelly ends up hiding in the closet. While he's hiding in the closet he pretty much "sings" (more like talks) about what he's thinking. It's quiet funny..

"Shh, shh, quiet
Hurry up and get in the closet"
She said, "Don't you make a sound
Or some shit is going down"
I said, "Why don't I just go out the window?"
"Yes, except for one thing, we on the 5th floor"
"Think, think, quick, put me in the closet"
And now I'm in this darkest closet, tryin' to figure out
Just how I'm gonna get my crazy ass up out this house"

Honestly, How desperate does one have to get these days?

Nah he was actually hiding because she was underage...

Compromise. I'll dress in a cheerleader's uniform and sing James Taylor. And Carly Simon, too. That's REAL music, kids!

Well no. To me, James Taylor sounds like a goose farting underwater. If you are going to talk real music, then see the Chairman of the Board. Nothing beats Frankie in the old time singers department. Other than that, music did not end in the 70's. Give me something with some edge and passion anyday.

Hehehehe.

I have never heard a goose farting underwater, have you?

Well, maybe the "Comma, comma, comma, com, com" part sounds like a honker. :)

Handy Man

"Hey girls, gather round, listen to what I'm putting down.
Hey babe, I'm your handy man.
I'm not the kind to use a pencil or rule, I'm handy with love and I'm no fool,
I fix broken hearts, I know that I truly can.

If your broken heart should need repair, then I'm the man to see.
I whisper sweet things, you tell all your friends, they'll come running to me.

Here is the main thing I want to say, I'm busy 24 hours a day.
I fix broken hearts, I know that I truly can.
Comma, comma, comma, com, com, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Comma, comma, comma, com, com, yeah, yeah, yeah, they'll come running to me.

Sinatra? He was a fine vocalist, granted, but if I want edge and passion, and I'm going back that far, I'll take the rough-hewn despair of Hank Williams or the simmering Peggy Lee.

James Taylor's talents were overshadowed by his ex-wives, Joni Mitchell and Carly Simon. Nontheless, he's a solid craftsman as a lyricist and a competent musician. While the same could be said of many bar-band crooners... well, I like bar-band crooners.

Throw in some Carole King and I'll be happy... though I might have to pop in some Zeppelin to mix it up.
