Here's my rule... if you're over 30, you need to stop wearing cheerleader outfits and singing about girl gangs in highschool. I'm gonna send her some james taylor CD's.

I'm thinking that Gwen Stefani is going through some kind of midlife crisis. Has anyone listened to the lyrics of to "Hollahback Girl"? All I know for sure is that her s--t is bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S.

Lock yourself in your house, turn on another radio stream or crank up some new music. since I got my new Nine Inch Nails cd I don't hear that song nearly as much. _____________________

Yeah, one of my faves from the new NIN CD is "Right Where It Belongs"... lovely to play at an almost-inaudible volume while strolling the beaches of SL.

Then she went on her own and lost all her edge and became a pop idol. Man can some once kill all the pop idols? PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!! The new NiN CD is excellent. Yup Didn’t I just say I would not trust your opinion again? I think so over in the Bo thread? OK I take it back! Trent is cool. Not as cool as Skinny Puppy or Die Krops but still very cool. Still can’t see Trent with Tory but hay Love them both. Loved there songs about each other after the brake up. OK I take it back Weedy if you like NIN. _____________________

This Shit is B-a-n-B-a-n-a-n-a-s.
Yeah well when you are over thirty and look better in a cheerleader outfit than most cheerleaders, you can sing and wear one in my book! The song is a bit annoying, but then most are. And don't worry Ingrid, I still think you are sexy, even if you did suggest that someone actually listen to James Taylor. ![]() |

Oh Mickey, you're so fine
You're so fine, you blow my mind, hey Mickey, hey Mickey Oh Mickey, you're so fine You're so fine, you blow my mind, hey Mickey, hey Mickey Oh Mickey, you're so fine You're so fine, you blow my mind, hey Mickey... Toni Basil was in her late 30's when she went on her cheerleader tangent, and was playing to an audience MUCH younger than herself on early MTV. You're never too old to act young. ![]() I will say though that Hollaback Girl is not my favorite from Gwen at all... much too repetitive for my tastes. _____________________

I listen to ALL different types of music - from classical to rap. I'm a Gwen Stefani fan - I like her music. Now, Hollaback Girl isn't one of my favorites by her at all, but I do like her music.
What gets me is when people judge music by what the artist wears or does. That drives me nuts. Don't judge the music by anything BUT the music. The music doesn't care about what skirt the artist has on that day, or who they've been sleeping with - it just cares about the music ![]() _____________________

My mom bought me the gwen stefani cd for christmas, it was weird, but at least it came with a pretty pretty cd case. I was kind of disappointed at the music, it was all very rappish, but I liked "What you waiting for" but the rest of the music wasn't all that good.
My mom gives me CDs for christmas. |

Speaking of crappy music.. Has anyone ever heard R.Kelly - Trapped in the closet? It's on the radio all the time now. I was literally in tears the first time I heard it. I seriously thought it was a joke.
In the song he sings about waking up in some womans bed, the womans husband comes home and R.Kelly ends up hiding in the closet. While he's hiding in the closet he pretty much "sings" (more like talks) about what he's thinking. It's quiet funny.. "Shh, shh, quiet Hurry up and get in the closet" She said, "Don't you make a sound Or some shit is going down" I said, "Why don't I just go out the window?" "Yes, except for one thing, we on the 5th floor" "Think, think, quick, put me in the closet" And now I'm in this darkest closet, tryin' to figure out Just how I'm gonna get my crazy ass up out this house" Honestly, How desperate does one have to get these days? _____________________

I'm 18, and Gwen is still hot, I don't care her age. So she can wear and sing whatever she wants

I can't help but think it's R. Kelly calling out for help, or alluding to him being a different sexual lifestyle. or maybe it's more on the lines of ... "And dere was dis 13 year old in the closet and she was naked and seduced me, but I couldn't escape since the husband woulda killed me... and THAT, your honor, is why I couldn't keep my reproductive organs out of a minor!" _____________________

The absolute BEST part is when he tries to do a run on the last word of: "I thought I had my phone set to VIIIIIIIIBRATE." WTF? LOL. ^_^ _____________________

The new NiN CD is excellent. Yup It's okay, but it would certainly be a lot better if he wasn't trying so hard to be relevant. Too much The Faint and DFA in that whiner's cd player, I reckon. And WHY is DFA so popular? Someone please explain this to me. I like James Lavelle a lot but find Goldsworthy's band to be kind of lame (maybe it's a good thing he left UNKLE). _____________________

James Taylor? Isn't that a little extreme? Compromise. I'll dress in a cheerleader's uniform and sing James Taylor. And Carly Simon, too. That's REAL music, kids! |
